Sue me, I couldn't think of a better name.
Was experimenting with guitar lines, found one I liked, and built on it from there. I wanted to add a proper finish with a ritardando section and everything, but couldn't find a good one after god-knows-how many days. Maybe I'll work on how to do that if I ever get my keyboard back...

Tropical, Comical, Melting Pot

First things first, this is not a new song. This has been sitting around my "Forbidden things" folder for around two years now(maybe even more).  I figured I should upload it because it still sounds nice after all this time. I made this song back when I was taking a class in my free time on the basics of Ableton. This is also probably one of the only songs that managed to circulate, however I put it out under a different name.

Music creation has always been alien to me; there's a lot of things I want to make that I can hear in my head, but when it comes to putting it on paper (or on a computer screen for that matter), I usually fall flat. Regardless, I like this song because it reminds me of how far a little direction can get you.

Before you ask, my "forbidden things" folder is just discarded/completed projects.

After 2 years of Ravana being destroyed by Warriors of Light for the sake of mounts, you'd think he'd be at least a little tired of fighting by now.

Testing my midi keyboard and eighty-eight VST. I like the sound of the piano, but the pedal release noise is sort of overkill. Apologies for it being slightly out of time.

Final draft. Added some variation in the drum kit and piano, and added a counterpoint in the piano for the flute. First song I've finished in a while.

For better or for worse, extending the song isn't the hard part, but more of reusing patterns while trying to keep your music consistently different.
This is about as much as I can do with what I have - at least until I find a good double bass vst. Was thinking about Straight Ahead, but apparently I need a super-expensive program to use it...

Didn't expect to finish this on Christmas, but I guess the gift I was given this year was spontaneous inspiration.

Two or sleepless nights went into this. I've gotten reaccustomed to sampling and the process of creating sounds which is good. The alarm clock is actually a blend of three alarms that have been shortened.

My inspiration here was just "underwater", so I went the obvious route of reverb and muted piano, to give that feeling of being underwater. Fun fact: I used two pianos to keep the chords muted, but the melody clear. Also, I think the clarity of the bells and the muted piano create a wonderful contrast.
People say this ended up sounding like a modern gymnopedie, though I don't think Satie's famous works had bells...

The request I got was "snow" related, so I tried my best to make a light ambient piece. There's a lot of ways to go about it, but in the end I wanted to preserve the cold feeling of the piece by avoiding warm, full, sounding instruments. I also added classic sleigh bells since people associate them with winter a lot.

I can't get this theme out of my head, so obviously I just have to get it out of my system to work on other stuff.
