Premiere: Mark Flash "Spirit Messenger" - Detroit Techno Funk Association

Continuing a stunningly prolific 2020, trailblazing duo Black Girl / White Girl further solidify their unrelenting rise to prominence with the new 'Paradise On Saturn' EP, due November 20th on the vital UKR label.

UKR is proud to welcome the extremely talented and well-respected techno duo from Holland, Black Girl / White Girl, to the imprint as they and UKR go from strength to strength as we approach 2021. Hot on the heels of their guest mixes and interviews for acclaimed British electronic music publications Mixmag and DJ Mag, this powerhouse team Karin & Ty, aka Black Girl / White Girl, deliver two jacktastic warehouse weapons titled 'Nightfall On Saturn' & 'Fool's Paradise'.

The two original tracks from BGWG are pure magic with their raw energy, tough attitude, catchy layering, and unstoppable vibes. 'Nightfall On Saturn' draws the listener in with its tribal tom groove, jacking rhythms, twisted vocal manipulations, and intricate effects, while 'Fool's Paradise' funks things up with its warped out scratching synth line, SL2 synth stabs, vocal snippets, cutting edge effects and clean bongo percussive action. These two are on fire as they lay down some true funky techno action that's absolutely first class all the way.

As this duo is making big waves across the globe, it was clear that the big guns needed to be called in for remix duties,  therefore, MASC aka Mark Archer (Altern 8) & Shadow Child (UK), Hiroko Yamamura (Chicago, USA) and Noncompliant (Indianapolis, USA) were contacted as the project came to fruition. If you're into the originals, then you're in for a real treat when you dive into these remixes. From the clever as ever mind-melting re-work of 'Nightfall On Saturn' by the always relentless perfectionist, Noncompliant, that pitch-shifts, and warps things into another dimension of raw jacking warehouse goodness, and the unreal bass line, catchy percussive rhythms, next level mimicking synth layering and mind-trickery of the world-renowned duo MASC's treatment of 'Fool's Paradise', to the super hot acid remix of 'Fool's Paradise' from Chicago's extremely talented and intriguing Hiroko Yamamura, a true techno gem of the Windy City. This Paradise On Saturn EP from Black Girl / White Girl is a release that is sure to stand the test of time.

Club Unique proudly presents a showcase of Ōtautahi underground dance music talent with a new VA release. CU008 is our biggest release to date, and is packed with aural delights ranging from introspective house joints, to atmospheric 140 territory.

CU founders Keanu Raves & Malware Md set the scene with a moody lo-fi house groove which segues into a feelgood synthwave nostalgia trip. Off the back of his debut vinyl release for new Pōneke imprint Rays Records, Patella takes over with a tasteful minimal-tech groove peppered with Rhodes melodies and acid tinges. 
 
Next up it’s Harvo, returning to CU with his solo debut for the label, Faceless. This spellbinding production conjures up waves of euphoria with its hypnotic rolling bassline and pensive synth pads...

We awake in unfamiliar territory... best radio for reinforcements. The breakout dub commander Anima has our back, deploying a tight network of bass hooks to guide us through ominous atmospheres and stealthy percussive traps! 

Continuing our agenda, we feature a pair of handcrafted B2B hardware jams. On Scripter, Toronja coaches raw drums and warped vocals through an aerobic workout of acid patterns. Meanwhile, groove engineering duo Toyota move ever closer to cyberpunk style hardware integration, welding together organic and artificial textures on Machine Mentality. 

Closing out the release is the enigmatic talent Rosetown with his relentless rave epic, Trouble in Babylon. This masterful orchestration is the perfect soundtrack for both the end of the night, and the end of civilization as we know it. Use it wisely!
