Interesting. Though read something once how seemingly in his own words. Charlie May (One half of Spooky) recorded a mix CD to be credited as by Junkie XL in exchange for cash. Would not be too surprised if something similar occurred here. You sure they went uncredited? Could swear the small print had them down for scratches and additional mixes or something like that!

Actually, Clubbed To Death II was eventually released as a bonus track on certain CD editions of Rob Dougan's first album, 'Furious Angels'. I know, because I bought it especially for that track.

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

On a night out in the late 80s you'd hear every kind of electronic dance music from vocal NYC Garage to Chicago House to Detroit Techno to UK Acid House to Belgium Nu-Beat to Electro. The music was diverse. The experience was Acid House.

The James Lavelle CD was actually mixed by the Psychonauts, who were a little peeved to receive ZERO credit for one of the most technically accomplished mixes of it's time. If there were any doubters, the Psychonauts went on to re-record some of the mix combinations found here for their Essential Mix in '96... while James Lavelle went on to prove that he can't mix at all.
The track Clubbed to Death II only appears on this CD, and wasn't released anywhere else in any format unfortunately; it's probably the best of all the Clubbed To Death variations, and reason enough for owning this CD.
