Moony Me go back in Apparel Music after the success in 2013 with "Say It Again", even supported by Hugo Boss' blog & radio. 
Across "Change of Season" EP, there are loose-hipped cool tracks, funky jazz cut, false and calibrate noodlings and humid piano house stormers. 
The @moony-me track with @woodcut_official duo "Zeitgeist" for instance, makes a short, hypnotic few-chord piano pattern its base, like a midway point between modern jazz piano and the mnemonic riffs at the heart of house music. The remixes: @sarpyilmaz’ reworks "New Era" with a special saxophone' phrasing and his unique jazzy touch, so the @nachtbraker’ bomb: the new talent reconstructs "Zeitgeist" for the most demanding DJs.

toucan sounds starts 2025 with a collaboration between Abelson Live, aka Brian Abelson, and XHOSA, with the ‘Wanted To Know You’ EP landing on the label 14th February 2025. First up is the original House mix of Abelson Live and XHOSA’s ‘2 Know U’, a low-slung groove with bouncing chords and pumping drums that bring a timeless vibe while XHOSA’s vocal adds soul. Their Acid mix then layers in subtle 303 lines that bubble up through the mix and grow evermore central to the groove before XHOSA flips the original into a humid and steamy sound with smartly rated vocals shimmering about the mix next to spoken word snippets and seductive pads.

Next, ‘2 Know U’ is remixed by Solar System, consisting of Aaron Tripp and Brian Abelson, known for curating open-air, solar-powered parties in New York under the same monicker. They up the melodics as lush chords bring cosmic rays of light, the original vocal taking on a heavenly charm. Lastly, JWords steps up to remix Abelson Live and XHOSA’s original track with her jackin’ version featuring rugged drums and rave-ready whistles, which will blow up the 'floor next to the harmonised vocals.

Over the last 10 years, XHOSA has established herself as a trailblazing artist within the New York scene and beyond, playing anywhere from VIA FEST to SXSW. Here, she joins forces with Abelson Live, whose versatile sounds have appeared on labels like Beats in Space, Sinderlyn, and Love Injection (with Jennifer Vanilla) and once before on the celebrated Brooklyn label Toucan Sounds, where he worked with John Barera on their collaborative album, ‘The Arc’.

With Abelson Live & XHOSA’s ‘Wanted To Know You’ EP, toucan sounds once again showcase what New York House music is all about.

"You Belong Here” is a short collection of assorted demos from a handful of sessions over the past two years that have been swirling around in my head, and have arranged themselves into a very personal self-release. The opening title track features a spoken passage that touches on themes of belonging, self-doubt, and identity—subjects that have been deeply present in both my personal life and musical journey of late. These recordings, while varied in tone and texture, all orbit a similar emotional core. This release is in celebration of a quiet but powerful realization, and marks the end of a chapter defined by uncertainty and second-guessing. And no, it’s not the end of Glo Phase, but rather a turning point: the conclusion of an era of self-doubt, and a shift toward embracing a sense of belonging and acceptance.

A recent discovery well worth your time is newcomer imprint, Salt Mines. The independent label running out of Melbourne is headed up by two producers and mates, Shedbug and Rudolf C. As part of Lobster Theremin's close-knit distribution outfit, Salt Mines share the philosophy of focusing solely on limited run, heavyweight 12" records. The music these releases contain, however, span the dance music spectrum with artists from all corners of the hemisphere.

Their inaugural release, Salt001 serves up a prime selection of cuts from their Oz hometown, all neatly grouped by an overarching theme of loose house and techno. EP opener "Summer" ranks as our highlight – five minutes of funky, laidback house from Milanese beatsmonger and a new name on our radar, DJ PHLOWGOD. The bar on this compilation is set high from its outset, followed up by tracks from both label owners, ending with a hard-hitting surprise by CoastDream. An apt round-off to a debut release well worth shouting about.
