Most DJs get into it because they love music. Rob Pan (Kenji Saphyre) did because he grew tired of the same predictable music being overplayed and sought to make a difference. 

With most people being told to produce tune after tune to "get famous", Saphyre instead focused on becoming a good DJ - an artform lost in our producers generation. This meant avoiding the cliches, never being afraid to surprise everyone with the classics, and making a set tell a story from beginning, middle, end. His goal is to get people interested in THE MUSIC - not him. If after a Saphyre set you say to yourself, "What track was that?; I must know!", then he did his job correctly. 

Saphyre's sets are mainly focused on melodic trance, but as a DJ can take you any direction whether it be harder, deeper, or abstract. 

He has performed at San Francisco venues such as Ruby Skye and The Regency Ballroom, and has opened for acts such as Solarstone, Rank 1, Cosmic Gate, TyDi, Ian van Dahl, Cascada, and more.

An 80’s kid, born and raised in San Francisco’s Mission District, Devin Grey’s artistic influences were vast growing up in the melting pot of the city. From the traditional murals and graffiti art that covered the landscape, to the eclectic music scene of the Bay Area spanning from the raw energy of Punk to the diy approach of early Hip Hop, the visceral sounds of Metal and Hardcore to the ever growing palette of both uplifting and darker styles of Electronic Music. 

"I’ve worked on so many different genres of production from hip hop,house,trance,techno,ambient,industrial...the list goes on. I may even make an acoustic 90’s sitcom ballad if it sparks my interest in the moment. The creation of music to me is an experience that is ever growing and ever giving. It gives me the ability to act on an instinct, emotion or specific thought ...or throw all the rules out and find the beauty within the chaos of randomization. Music production gives me that opportunity of experimentation and exploration." 

As a self taught musician and producer Devin Grey has worn many hats and had many monikers over the years stretching back to the early 2000’s. There is no set style when it comes to Devin greys music. You may get some dark industrial techno... you may get some rolling drum n bass or you might get a euphoric anthem that takes you back to a moment in your childhood. You can be sure that whatever you hear from this talented producer, it will take you on a journey through life and sound. Enjoy the ride!
