"Music For Mushrooms: A Soundtrack For The Psychedelic Practitioner" is a five hour, fully connected journey designed to musically guide a group or individual through an entire psilocybin experience, start to finish. 

This album aims to forge a new shamanic path — one that is birthed of our musical tools and the technology of our time while also honoring and inspired by the rich history of our human relationship to psychedelic plants and fungi. 

My album's compositional shape guides the arch of the ceremony experience. The music of the current psilocybin public research therapy playlists (like those offered by Johns Hopkins and Imperial College) is an amalgamation of tracks by different composers - none of the songs were originally intended for psilocybin. Further, most of these songs are comparatively short. The songs of "Music For Mushrooms: A Soundtrack For The Psychedelic Practitioner" have a slow and gentle growth, an organic progression that aligns with the waves of feeling and experience in the psychedelic journey. This progressive unfolding allows the journeyer to enter into sonic and emotional worlds gradually, to explore the psychic depths with peaceful transitions that allow for time to integrate the experience before moving into the following song or space. 

Additionally, "Music For Mushrooms" integrates original nature field recordings throughout the composition. Field recordings of “that which is still wild”, provides a soothing synthesis of nature into what might otherwise be a staid and sterile therapeutic setting. Sounds of nature can unlock memories, calm our senses, and contain a texture that welcomes our most ancient self home — whether a chorus of crickets or a gentle mountain breeze. 

As mentioned, "Music For Mushrooms: A Soundtrack For The Psychedelic Practitioner" was recorded and improvised live, inside ceremony.  In this way, it contains the ‘energy of the medicine’.  

The new album is intentionally conducive to the psychedelic experience in a variety of additional ways, like avoiding lyrical content so as not to spark the language centers of brain. The record employs falsetto vocalizations throughout, utilizing a non-lyrical language composed primarily of improvised vowels. This allows for the benefits of vocals without the potential language triggers of lyrics. With the live looping technology I employ harmonies and a full choir can develop. 

I’ve always intuitively felt that the solutions our world needs will not come from the top down. Rather, the answers we’ve been looking for will come from the inside out. By exploring our interior landscape to heal our traumas, to root out shame, to learn to love ourselves, we empower our ability to make positive changes that echo out into our lives and the world around us.

Argentina-born and New York-raised, Patrick was exposed as a youth to the cultural melting pot of New York City's Lower East Side.

Patrick began his adventure with music in college where he co-hosted a radio show for over three years at the university’s station. Piggy-backing off the radio show he soon began throwing local parties in and around the university, where he also began to put together his first DJ sets. He continued organizing and Dj’ing parties after graduating and took his career further by attending audio engineering school in NYC, which he completed in the summer of ’08. Soon after, Patrick began working as a freelance engineer working with different producers, singers, and songwriters from various different genres of music. In the meantime, he continued to Dj parties all over the city, gaining a name and following for himself while continuously spinning at numerous venues in NYC’s Meat Packing District. Due to these gigs, he eventually found himself playing and traveling throughout the country bringing his music to many different venues and nightclubs. 

Shortly after meeting the Martinez Brothers through longtime friend Filsonik, who had been working and Dj’ing with the duo since meeting them in ’07, they quickly became friends and he soon began playing gigs alongside of them. This eventually led to gigs with other major artists within the scene. Since then, Patrick has played in many countries and cities all over the world, including Ibiza, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Sweden, and Japan. As well as in world renowned festivals such as Movement Detroit, WMC in Miami, and the BPM festival in Playa del Carmen. Not to mention major venues in his hometown of NY such as Output, Cielo, Verboten, Space NY, and Flash Factory. His Dj sets are always cutting across and reflecting the diversity of the city where he comes from. Always looking to bring the unexpected to the crowd, he drops tracks from techno to house to disco…whatever he feels the moment calls for.

Looking into the future, Patrick will continue to tour with his music while also completing production projects set to be released in 2016. He is also now working with the Martinez Brothers’ as their label manager for their record label Cuttin’ Headz, which is also set to launch a radio show this year. The show will be hosted by The Martinez Brothers, Patrick, Jesse Calosso, and Gabriel Torres. They will be showcasing various artists as guests’ while introducing new music and upcoming artists within the global electronic music scene.
