Teaspoon & The Waves - Friday Night (V4YS Sax & Sun Edit)

As i've been doing lately. I took all the original multi-tracks, pumped 'em up from 111 bpm then sliced, diced and quantized EVERYthing to a steady 118 bpm grid. This is my full 'directors cut' mix. I also did an edit that clocks in around 7 mins.
Love working with horn sections and real musician performances. Once again tons of work and it's kinda remixed old school (very few overdubs) with today's technology. Still wanted to keep the original feel of the live band yet make it 'simple stupid' easy to now mix in and out of in today's world.

July, July, July; we're sweating, we're dancing, we're going deep. 

The twelfth installment of Radio Samt rounds out our first whole year of guest mixes. I'd like to thank everyone for their contributions from every community and across every genre gap, and I mean honestly across creative universes entirely.

NYC is no stranger to alternative dance spaces however there are few quite like the one that DJ concon has been working on this year. "dance practice" is almost a dance class, almost a club moment, almost a meditation, a chance for people to set some intention with their moving+listening experience.

'dance practice' explores the therapeutic role of the dancefloor through 90 minutes of sound-driven free movement in a stunning Bushwick loft turned dance studio.

Ambient sounds turn slinky and loose, warming into heavy rhythms and finally melting into a sound bath. In the tradition of ecstatic dance, each set explores mood, texture and tempo, as dancers engage with a range of feeling and movement.

This mix is a showcase for the incredible spectrum of NY-based artists making music right now. Please reach out if you'd like to participate!
