Love this section. The distorted guitar I think is needing more power or bass levels. Like very much the synth overtop of it.

Great percussion. I using PocketKit Pro sets a lot. They have great punchy sounds. What you using ?

This is where I put everything that I've made in Caustic, a music app from Single Cell Software. All the instruments you hear are synthesized or sampled, so don't ask me who played what part. :P 

If you like playing around with synths, drum machines, effects, or other musical gadgets, I highly recommend checking out this app. It's available on Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac, so basically if you're reading this you can probably get it in some form or another.

Caustic

Just recently got the new Caustic beta for Mac (thankfully, since I lost my phone a few weeks ago and thought I would be without Caustic for a while). This is what I've been working on for the past couple of days.

If you listen carefully to the bass synth, you'll hear my "Incinerate" modular patch kick in starting about halfway through and picking up from there (after first raising in volume and then gradually opening up through a high-pass filter). Basically it just adds some meaty distortion and filtering to the original bass signal. You can download the preset from the Single Cell Software website here: singlecellsoftware.com/node/4718

Incinerate

Here it is, finally! My hard-hitting cyberpunk-themed track! Initially, I was moved by my playthrough of Ion Fury, but I soon found myself going back to the original Deus Ex more and more for inspiration.

This was the third song to be made during my retro music production streams on Wednesdays, where people can participate in the process by making suggestions and giving out comments. It took me roughly 14-16 hours in total - some of it was done off-stream, including final mixing and mastering. Everything was made in Cubase 12.

I think I've really outdone myself with this one - it's definitely some of the best material I've produced in 20 years of making music. I am so happy with what I managed to make.

So I just remembered a song I used to hear all the time like 20 years ago, I think from back when I used to listen to ChristianRockRadio.com like everyday. But I don't remember the name of the song or artist and Shazam didn't help either, so I fired up Caustic and tried to reconstruct it as best as I could from memory. It definitely isn't a perfect replica but hopefully it at least gets the idea across for someone who knows it. Here's a simple, weird idea I was working on in Caustic. Complete with drums, synth bass, annoying piano, inappropriate upright bass, ugly guitar, and sexy saxophone! It isn't as much of a song as it is a loop or backing track that might be fun jamming over. Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy listening to it!

New version of the previous track I posted. Fiddled around with the mixing and mastering a bit, added some effects and changed up a few parts just to keep things interesting.

Groovy Jam Loop Thing (New Mix/Master)

A new mix of an older track that's been posted here for a while--you might know it as "Caustic3 new track preview." ;) "Epic" was always the working title of this track, as cliche a word as it is, but a while back another fine Caustic Warrior, CelebZooZ, made a great dubstep remix of the original version and called it "Epic Remix," so I figured I would just let the working title stick. 

Some of the synth parts have now been blended with real sampled instruments courtesy of the Sonatina Symphony Orchestra, including the male and female choirs and the cello, though I never quite found a way to blend the two cello sounds to make it sound natural. Though I guess elephant sounds are technically still "natural." :P

Epic (New mix)

IT'S FINALLY FINISHED! :D I started this track back in the summer of 2014 and now, in January 2015, Onrush is one of my first finished Caustic songs, so I'm quite proud of that. :P Maybe I'll work on finishing some of my many other WIPs now that this one is out of the way? Hmmm...

My brother needed a rendition of Nightmare's battle music for one of his online gaming functions. 

Decided I'd go the orchestral only route, and make it much more percussion based, with multiple concert bass drums, toms, Chinese gong, taiko drum, anvils, bells, timpani, xylophone all carrying the original score, so you could even potentially have a version without the strings or brass.

Everything except for the bells is from EastWest Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra Gold. The bells were a separate instrument/sample set I found and purchased a long time ago.

This is a 4-phrase loop, looped for 6+ minutes with some basic intro/outro drums to kind of give it a start and stop. So, outside of the 4 phrases, it doesn't change at all.
