This is where I put everything that I've made in Caustic, a music app from Single Cell Software. All the instruments you hear are synthesized or sampled, so don't ask me who played what part. :P 

If you like playing around with synths, drum machines, effects, or other musical gadgets, I highly recommend checking out this app. It's available on Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac, so basically if you're reading this you can probably get it in some form or another.

Caustic

Not a whole lot of difference between this and the version I posted earlier, I admit, but still enough difference to warrant feelings of embarrassment towards the original.

Work sort-of in progress. They just released Caustic 3, which has a lot more options available so maybe I'll finish this just yet.

Insomnia (slightly updated)

Something I've been working on ever since getting my hands on Caustic 3 a few days ago. You'll see it's an entirely different animal from what my previous Caustic track, Insomnia, was. Much darker and more atmospheric. You can also hear the Ethereal Choir Padsynth preset I made in the male chorus part.

Thinking about maybe adding some guitar riffs towards the end, but I may end up just leaving it as is instead, with maybe some small edits here and there.

Caustic3 new track preview

Just recently got the new Caustic beta for Mac (thankfully, since I lost my phone a few weeks ago and thought I would be without Caustic for a while). This is what I've been working on for the past couple of days.

If you listen carefully to the bass synth, you'll hear my "Incinerate" modular patch kick in starting about halfway through and picking up from there (after first raising in volume and then gradually opening up through a high-pass filter). Basically it just adds some meaty distortion and filtering to the original bass signal. You can download the preset from the Single Cell Software website here: singlecellsoftware.com/node/4718

Woke up today with a nice, weird little bassline in my head that I thought might work well with an upright bass sound. Could do more with it, but this is where I've taken it so far.

Made using Caustic 3.1 for Mac OSX.

Here's a simple, weird idea I was working on in Caustic. Complete with drums, synth bass, annoying piano, inappropriate upright bass, ugly guitar, and sexy saxophone! It isn't as much of a song as it is a loop or backing track that might be fun jamming over. Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy listening to it!

New version of the previous track I posted. Fiddled around with the mixing and mastering a bit, added some effects and changed up a few parts just to keep things interesting.

Groovy Jam Loop Thing (New Mix/Master)

A new mix of an older track that's been posted here for a while--you might know it as "Caustic3 new track preview." ;) "Epic" was always the working title of this track, as cliche a word as it is, but a while back another fine Caustic Warrior, CelebZooZ, made a great dubstep remix of the original version and called it "Epic Remix," so I figured I would just let the working title stick. 

Some of the synth parts have now been blended with real sampled instruments courtesy of the Sonatina Symphony Orchestra, including the male and female choirs and the cello, though I never quite found a way to blend the two cello sounds to make it sound natural. Though I guess elephant sounds are technically still "natural." :P

Epic (New mix)

IT'S FINALLY FINISHED! :D I started this track back in the summer of 2014 and now, in January 2015, Onrush is one of my first finished Caustic songs, so I'm quite proud of that. :P Maybe I'll work on finishing some of my many other WIPs now that this one is out of the way? Hmmm...

Sputnik Nation

An old Caustic track I made a long time ago but never fully polished up. Sadly the app is on its last legs now so thought I would upload for archival purposes. This one started out with me adding synth layers to a stock Brit House drum pattern and then I decided I wanted to try telling a story thru just the music. Basically I imagine the synth melody as a character lost and stuck deep in a vast & uncaring sea (the background layers), until another ocean dweller (the piano part) eventually finds them just before collapse and brings them back up to the surface for air. Not sure how well it all comes through and the track could use a bit of polish but it was a fun experiment anyway.

Bubbling to the Surface (rough)

Another old Caustic track from years ago, uploaded for archival purposes. This one is more of a slow ballady track, a bit repetitive but I still love the intro and the twist at the end and the overall vibe.

We Could End It All (rough, unfinished)

My first real electronic song--don't laugh! ;) I just recently got the app Caustic 2 for my phone, and this is just something I came up with the other night because I couldn't sleep (hence the title). It's a work in progress, but I'm proud of it so far. Next I want to add some more melodic lines, maybe a Dream Theater-ish solo section using all the different synth instruments.
