This is Spanish composer Manuel DeFalla's own piano arrangement of a movement from his electrifying orchestral suite for the ballet, "El Amor Brujo" (The Bewitched Love.) The story behind this music is that of a young Andalusian Gypsy girl named Candela who is haunted by the ghost of her dead husband. To get rid of him, all the Gypsies make a large circle around their campfire at midnight. Candela then performs the ritual fire dance. This causes the ghost to appear with whom she then dances. As they whirl around faster and faster, the ghost is drawn into the fire, making it vanish forever

Schwelle (Umbral en alemán) explora los límites tímbricos y sonoros de los instrumentos de cuerda y del clarinete solista. En Schwelle, tanto el “conductor” como los intérpretes reaccionan en el momento, al entorno, eligiendo muchos factores de su interpretación en la misma ejecución en concierto. Una serie de posibilidades aleatorias que, en cambio, se nutren de un material complejo y muy exhaustivo que trabaja basándose en tres aspectos: El serialismo, la armonía de jazz y la “permutación” tímbrica. De esa manera, se ofrecen doce cajas que irán sonando en un camino de elecciones al azar y que contienen “gestos” y/o “frases” que también se irán combinando y permutando generando una sensación especular entre el mundo sonoro del clarinete solista y el del ensemble de cuerdas, viéndose o no reflejadas las sonoridad de uno en los otros y viceversa. En definitiva, el timbre, el color, lo “sonoro”, como base, acción y resultado.
“Obra abierta” que abraza el concepto de “conducción improvisada”, en la que el director ejerce de “conductor” de la pieza, tomando decisiones gestuales, formales, de fraseo, sonoras, tímbricas, de manera libre y sin estereotipos, alejándose, en la medida de lo posible, de la forma y la estructura preestablecida y de los cánones de tensión-distensión “clásicos” y “populares”.
Los intérpretes participan también de esta “dinámica abierta”, dejando a su libre albedrío numerosos parámetros que deben decidir en función de la evolución de la “performance”, de las reacciones del público y/o de las propias sensaciones o sonoridad creadas.
Así, el interprete se convierte también en co-creador de la obra y la propia obra deviene en ser vivo que nunca aparece idéntico y que se transforma radical- o sutilmente en función de la interpretación. 





Esta obra fue encargada por José Vicente Fuentes, director del Festival I ara què? de Manises para su estreno el día 27 de septiembre de 2019 a cargo de Luis Fernández Castelló y el Ensemble de cuerdas del Festival bajo la dirección de Miguel Gálvez Taroncher.

Bio:
Patrick's musical journey started in 2008 when he was just 15 years old, when he discovered the electrifying beats of Harder Style. It all began at a house party where a friend added several Hardstyle songs to the playlist, and Patrick was instantly hooked. As his passion for the genre grew stronger, he began to research it himself, and in 2018, he attempted to create his first homemade Harder Styles mix, which he intended to use as a warmup mix for an upcoming event.

Fast forward to November 2020 and Patrick, now performing under the name "H!VE" has taken his love for Harder Style to the next level. He's been actively creating his own tracks in his unique style, which ranges from Rawstyle to Frenchcore to Uptempo. Along the way, he has developed a following of dedicated fans who can't get enough of his infectious beats.

Despite his success, H!VE isn't afraid to take risks and push boundaries. Every year, he releases what he calls "Garbage", a project that's intentionally unpolished and experimental. It's a time of the year that his fans love to hate and hate to love, but for H!VE, it's a chance to let his creativity run wild and see what happens.
