  I made this for a Movember / moustache party.  It went over well with some Magnum PI video clips at the event, I hope you can get some use out of it as well.

My cover version of the Magnum P.i theme music, originally composed and recorded by Mike Post.

Gear used:

ESP MX250 with EMG 81/60 PUs, Fractal Audio System`s AXE-FX 2 (FW 11.5), using their Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+ amp. SADOWSKY 5-string NYC bass through a Line 6 Bass Pod Pro. Toontrack`s Superior Drummer 2.0. used for drums. Recorded using Logic Pro 9. Photoshop and iMovie used for visual presentation.

There are many Italo-Disco hits that have sci-fi themes and sound effects that were previously used in Space Disco. Many instrumental Italo-Disco remixes sounded very "space disco" like and some Italo-Disco artists and groups (most notable Koto and Laserdance) had space disco elements in their music until the late 1980s.
