"Super Flu - Volkwein (Kollektiv Turmstrasse Remix)" - out today on Monaberry!!

Release:

After the unbridled success that was "Volkwein", Super Flu's collaboration with The Dortmund Philharmonic, the always on point Monberry label now revisits the package with the help of some fine contemporary remixers, namely Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Monkey Safari and Bebetta.

Super Flu, aka Herzblut Recordings regulars and German pair Felix Thielemann & Mathias Schwarz, really conjured up some magic with the original so these remixes, which reinterpret in fine style, are more than welcome.

First up are Kollektiv Turmstrasse, a rare act that infuse their sound with something more - extra soul, depth and meaning. On their remix of the title track, they go for a trademark deep, brooding and slowly unfolding vibe with subtle synth modulations, buried drums and a rising sense of tension.

The curious and off kilter German duo Monkey Safari are up next. First they rework 'Bratzke' with a sensitive sense of touch. Underlapping, rubbery drums roll below churchy and hymnal chords. Softly spoken vocals add intimacy and you can see this one really making for quite a moment on the right dance floor. Secondly, they serve up a digital bonus remix of the same track that makes less use of the vocal and places plenty of emphasis on their lush arrangement and true sense of musicality.

Lastly we have Bebetta, a playful producer who infuses her music with charming melody and a real sense of personality. She has also recently won the Tresor Newcomer Award for her impressive DJ sets around Berlin. Her version of 'Volkwein' is patient and spacious. Glowing harmonically it soothes mind body and soul with playful patterns and clever use of filters.

This EP is an elegant and magical release that proves house music can be so much more than a physical and functional thing, and can instead stir real emotion when in the right hands.

Based in Berlin, Kruse and Nuernberg have become an integral part of the underground electronica scene, synonymous with tastefully crafted house music. The duo are notorious for working different influences and collaborators into their repertoire, and the release of 'Lost n Free' on March 10th continues their tradition of high quality output. This time, they have collaborated with British producer and songwriter Brolin, who has written a heart melting vocal for this release. As the lyrics and melody swirl across an uplifting instrumental, it becomes obvious that 'Lost n Free' is the soundtrack for those introspective, early morning moments. The B side, 'Doin It' takes the release underground with its pulsing synths and piano stabs that gradually build over contagious basslines and swung drum hits.

For its latest instalment, fast rising imprint Chapter 24 welcomes Kurt Baggaley to the helm for two mesmerising pieces of electronica-infused techno, supplemented by powerful Editions from THe WHite SHadow and Nhar.

An artist who lives and breathes electronic music culture, Kurt Baggaley has evolved his productions into a unique and personal sound since his early days as the Electro artist Scape One. Taking in influences from early 80's Chicago House, Detroit Techno and New York Club, with a fusion of Italo Disco, Euro Synth and Electro, his huge Former Self EP on Something Happening Somewhere in Spring 2015 was met with widespread acclaim. Supported by the likes of Michael Mayer, Dixon and Petar Dundov, it was followed up with an album on Abstract Theory a few months later.

With the Spiral EP, Kurt brings more of his mesmerising and arpeggio-laden electronica to the table. Spiral {Original Mix} relentlessly interweaves layers of analogue synths and drum machines into a unique and compelling whole. Meanwhile, Spiral {Staircase Mix} is dancefloor-ready, losing none of the hypnotic edge of the original whilst being deeper, darker and techno-tinged. The spiral winds its course.

THe WHite SHadow (aka Anthony Godwin) is next up. He delivers a typically intricate and electrifying Edition that sees him capitalise on the success of his Goodbye EP for Chapter 24, leaving us tingling for more.

Finally, the label welcomes NHAR. An electronic music staple with Kompakt Records, he has released as far and wide as mobilee records, Correspondant and Boxer Recordings. Adding his own French vocals, he deploys his talents to take things into low slung, menacing and sexy territory.
