Baby Broon - Bridging the Gap (2008)

This tune was written by Patsy for her nephew Henry Watt. Featuring Patsy on fiddle, violin and viola, Fraser Fifield on soprano saxophone, Mhairi Hall on piano, Ewan MacPherson on banjo, Ben Nicholls on double bass, Signy Jakobsdóttir on percussion and Mattie Foulds on kit. 

Hooray Henry

A beautiful traditional strathspey, which Patsy found in the Atholl Collection archive in Perth Library, followed by a brilliant crooked reel from the same collection entitled Mrs Ross's Rant. This track features Patsy on fiddle, Mhairi Hall on piano, Ben Nicholls on double bass, Fraser Fifield on soprano sax and whistle, Signy Jakobsdóttir on percussion and Mattie Foulds on kit. 

Donside - The Brightest Path (2014)

The first is a 3-part slow, pipe reel and the second tune was written for Patsy’s mandola playing VAMM band-mate, Marit Fält. This track features Patsy on fiddle and viola, Ewan MacPherson on guitar, Ben Nicholls on double bass, Fraser Fifield on soprano saxophone, Signy Jakobsdóttor on percussion, Mattie Foulds on kit and Mhairi Hall on piano. 

Thugainn - The Brightest Path (2014)

This gorgeous slow air was written for the BBC TV Series ‘Hebrides – Islands on the Edge’, which, written by Donald Shaw, featured Patsy on the original soundtrack. Featuring Patsy on viola, Ewan MacPherson on guitar and bowed-12-string guitar, Ben Nicholls on harmonium and Signy Jakobsdóttir on percussion. 

A Precious Place - The Brightest Path (2014)

Miss General Campbell (trad.), The Bridge of Garry (trad.), The Fouller’s Rant (trad.) Another three tunes from the Atholl Collection archives, housed in Perth’s AK Bell Library. This track features Patsy on fiddle, Ewan MacPherson on guitar, Mhairi Hall on piano, Ben Nicholls on double bass, Signy Jakobsdóttir on percussion and Mattie Foulds on kit. 


Bridge Of Garry - The Brightest Path (2014)

A cracker of a tune written by Newcastle based melodeon whiz, Julian Sutton. Patsy learnt this from Julian whilst they working on Kathryn Tickell’s Northumbrian Voices project in 2012. This track features Patsy on fiddle and viola, Fraser Fifield on soprano saxophone, Mhairi Hall on piano, Ben Nicholls on double bass, Ewan MacPherson on mandolin, Mattie Foulds on kit and Signy Jakobsdóttir on percussion. 


Lost In Green

A gorgeous song written by the fantastic American grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Patty Griffin. This track features Patsy on vocals, violin, viola and cello, Mhairi Hall on piano, Signy Jakobsdóttir on percussion, Mattie Foulds on vocals, Ewan MacPherson on guitar and Ben Nicholls on double bass. 

Kite Song - The Brightest Path (2014)

Another tune for my nephews! This track is the closing track of the album and it's set in baby's room. Listen out for the fading mobile, steady breathing and wind outside as the wee baby goes to sleep! Featuring Patsy on fiddle, Ewan MacPherson on mandolin, Mhairi Hall on piano and Signy Jakobsdóttir on percussion.

The Baby Tune

A song about home by Brooklyn band Hem. This version features Patsy on vocals, violin, viola and cello, Mhairi Hall on piano and Ben Nicholls on double bass.
