Songs

These songs/pieces all have at least one sound from the Studiologic Sledge 2.  This was a relatively recent acquisition for my studio but has become a centre piece. It was bought for it's easy programmability and keyboard - both of which I love, I really like the sound as well. It's not a perfect synth - it will glitch when changing sounds sometimes is my main issue, but it is a brilliant one.

Uptempo/lively or even rowdy...

I bought a new synth recently, and found a sound I rather liked so wanted to use it. The synth had no patch memories but I don't like to force the music; it may be my imagination but I think you can tell with the music when it's not really working in the studio. The synth sat there for a while and the inspiration to finish was the vocals/song arrangement idea which happily combined with the sound patch, and a bass sound I had put with it. Hope you enjoy this gentle reminder that relationships are a 2 way street....

Love Us Two by Patterns of Life

Fairly rowdy instrumental, bit more of an experiment than usual as I've re-arranged my studio and not everything went as I expected!  This one started from the bass sound testing the various audio connections and going "ooh", and it developed from there. Not as long as I wanted it to be, but I felt anything else would be padding...

Difficulties In A Remote Location, By Patterns of Life

Instrumental, trying to vary my sound a little, not sure I succeeded but good fun as a break from sorting out my rearranged studio - I suspect that will now never be finished as I can use it again!

Uneccessary Evil, by Patterns of LIfe

got a new synth autumn (fall) last year, and one of the first sounds I created on it was a bass sound I really like; it turned into the basis for this song. My first song with singing in over 2 years just because I'd really enjoyed doing what I was doing making instrumentals. This song really shows my 80's synthpop heritage, and may possibly get revised one day as I was using some other new gear on it as well (e.g. modular synth, vocal processor) and so maybe wasn't paying as much attention to the music as the technical things I ran into....  Anyway hope you at least find interesting.
