They had passed from the Needle to the thread. Asumi could still make out the Needle’s structure above them; the round disc through which the needle was threaded—the station they had just departed—was Orbital Point Epsilon. The tip of the Needle extended through it, providing additional counterweight. Like with most installations throughout the system, the disc had started life as an asteroid the machines had harvested and brought into Prime’s orbit before reshaping it into its current form.
