This tenth episode of our mix series is an assertive collection of tunes from renowned references and reliable outsiders, seamlessly stitched up by a steadfast figure of Berlin’s contemporary techno scene.

In her typical reckless manners, @IreenAmnes takes us from the dark ambient textures of one of her own tracks to the glacial tension of Alessandro Cortini’s romantic compositions, passing by the timeless beauty of Autechre’s debut and Andy Stott’s haunted songs.  

Boldly featuring one of the most disputed Burial tracks as well as a detour through the gleeful oddness of Belgian new wave band Polyphonic Size, this mix showcases the unpredictable and daring style of its author, thus perfectly matching and enriching the project behind Futurepast.

Ambidextrous [FN10]

Hailing from Seattle, Korean-American artist @fugal expresses both dynamism and nuance. As part of the @secondnatureseattle collective, he’s one of the driving forces behind a string of renowned events in Seattle and the US, as well as an impressive young label which has seen contributions from fellow secondnature residents @archivistseattle and @simictacoma, along with @smoreira and Svreca (@semantica-records).

Now based in Berlin, Fugal has continued to refine his rhythmic, emotive sound, with gigs across Berlin and abroad. On the production front, 2017/18 has proven to be a fruitful period, with a recent co-release with Archivist on @volte_face_bleed’s BleeD imprint, and his sophomore secondnature release coming up in mid-February.

With his contribution to the Patterns of Perception mix series, Fugal has taken a measured approach, veering away from more functional dancefloor sounds, and instead drawing inspiration from the warmth found amongst the grey Berlin winter. Toeing the line between experimental sounds and deep techno, Fugal’s mix delves into the intricate - focusing on musical phrases and creative transitions between widely varying tempos.

While all of us are living the quarantine life, Good Room has asked friends and residents to share mixes for our Solitude Series so you can dance on your own. The 15th mix comes from R Gamble. Originally hailing from Memphis, TN and now operating out of Brooklyn, DJ and producer R Gamble has been a staple of NYC underground music for close to a decade. With an ear bent towards leftfield analog electronics for the dancefloor, he founded label and party crew Lost Soul Enterprises, who now hold ongoing residencies at Good Room and The Lot Radio. He has released his own industrial synth-driven cuts on labels such as Primitive Languages, Mannequin, and Public System Recordings. Here's what he had to say about the mix;

"I'm not usually a huge junk food person. But since quarantine began I've started eating a lot of Cheetos™. They're amazing, and I think their newfound presence in my life definitely influenced the selections in this mix. Faced with the daily barrage of depressing and infuriating news, we need now more than ever to take refuge in the comforts of a few guilty pleasures. So with that in mind, I put together a cheesy, breezy montage of synth pop, dubbed-out punk disco, and assorted cosmic sleaze. Dig in and enjoy!"

Dark Science Electro presents: Drox guest mix

Set grabado en directo el pasado 19 de Junio en ramen bar utopia (Granada). Es un mix de mas de 5 horas en el que puse mucho material del que no suelo poner. Desde el ambient trip-hopero de Biosphere, Aphex Twin o Air liquide, pasando por downtempo o dub  y terminando con productores mas actuales de techno horizontal como Atis (@atismusic), Olorun (@idorecords) o @Kanthor. Tiene un par de transiciones importantes que te llevan a cada estilo o fase del set, para que así se pueda degustar por trozos, dado el tamaño del mismo.
Todo esta impregnado con mucha atmósfera y Bpms bajitos.
