Kerri Chandler discography mixed by Kerri Chandler pt.1

Producer, DJ, promoter, and @soundsofvala label head, @soundsofkaspiann's work straddles a range of paces and moods, always with an eye toward the innovative. With a lower-tempo release due early next year on an undisclosed label, Kaspiann's more recent sonic explorations wade into swampy techno with psychedelic inflections.

In Patterns of Perception 117, Kaspiann pulls you into the flow through these murky sounds that dips and stomps along, with a selection of unreleased tracks from both his and his friends' studios, along with a handful of carefully unearthed gems.

Patterns of Perception 117 - Kaspiann

Known for her hypnotic dives to the psychedelic reaches of deep techno, London-based @freyacaldwell signature style emphasises meticulous sound design and the incorporation of lush and evocative textures. 

Having graced the stages of renowned venues and festivals throughout Europe, she has appeared at prestigious locations such as Amsterdam's De School, the Positive Education Festival, and London's own Village Underground.

Faery's Patterns of Perception 118 circles around echoes, resonances and hauntings, shifting between shadowy low-ends and moments of ecstatic crescendo. Encapsulating the tension and drama held in dnb's darker edges, the mix also weaves in touches of eerie contemporary classical-esque ambient.

[Silent Season Session Part 2: Segue]

We are thrilled to present two exclusive sessions from a Pacific Northwest label making waves around the world. 

Segue is Jordan Sauer from Vancouver, Canada. He makes electronic music on his computer, everything from ambient and drone to dub and techno. With a keen attention to the sounds chosen in each composition, the music is built up of layers of tones and textures using recordings of acoustic instruments and everyday events.

[dB2014 Exclusive Mix #11: Silent Season Sessions, Segue]

Hailing from Amsterdam and with De School as his homebase, @nawazworldwide’s sound is always evolving, sliding deftly from wormhole techno to fast rhythms and glitchy electronics.

His selections on this Patterns of Perception 119 melt together while also reinforcing each other, each transition subtler than the last, sometimes even employing his own tailor-made tools and tracks for the purpose.

Beginning from a visual image, this mix blends diverse rhythms and atmospheres, offering a story line from which the listener can create their own narrative, their own image, free of imposition.

Marking the culmination of 2023, our final mix features the debut release from one of our own, @zilkamarie. As the driving force behind comms within our collective, Zilka's music inspiration is drawn from the diverse array of artists she collaborates with.

Recorded live at Jacopo (@severja) and Fred’s (@fred-czital) Hitze party back in July, the set follows on from a daytime open air while also opening the after party. Progressing from wet, spacious ambient sounds to dubby, irresistible beats, Patterns of Perception 120 captures and plays with quintessential afterhours vibes.

Hailing from Germany and now based in Portugal, @vril_01 has in recent years been quietly producing and performing some truly extraordinary electronic music. Going from strength to strength, he takes dancefloors on vivid, compelling journeys across Europe and beyond.

Patterns of Perception 121 takes us back to a very special live ambient set .VRIL performed at @nachtdigital MINT 2019, an immersive hour of lucid textures and swelling intensity.

Campfire Stories 6 (Lapsed Scenes)  by ASC

"Rotating Frames" is the new EP for PoleGroup by our very own duo Exium. Four tracks of modern and obscure techno, fuelled by heavy sub-bass action.

"Monopoles" opens fire with massive bass frequencies and continuous hat lines, joined by an obsessive sequence that mutates while it moves around the arrangement.

The approach of "Magnetic Flux" is deeper than the previous track, starting with flanged sequences and a subtle bass drum. Bell-like sounds grow from zero until drones and atmospheres appear from the slight breakdown.

"Rotating Frames" goes straight to the point and rises the tempos a bit, continues with the flanged and phased sequences and relies on a more percussive vibe.

"Early life" is the last number here: robotic FM sounds, effected noise hits, continuous synth lines and a constantly growing structure.

Deep, dark, melancholic ambience infused with lush pads echoing throughout the rhythmic elements of dub." Sonitus Eco is the moniker and project of dub techno maltese producer Justin Meli. Having a vast discography throughout the years with releases on labels like Silent Season, ROHS!!, Subself Records, Evasion Room Records, Pinkpube and Deepindub - his unique sound knows no boundaries. 2012 saw his debut album "it is loneliness that makes the loudest noise” on Silent Season, and also remixes for several artists over the years.
In 2015 he joined forces with maltese dj and avid music collector Serial Depth to start a small independent label called Haar Records. Their aim for the project is to share their vision of fog filled, mist-oriented techno. The first release is set to be coming out on vinyl in early 2016.
Sonitus Eco also forms part of a live project with another local artist as ‘Haddiela’. Their sound can be described as floor techno, derived from modular systems and FM synthesis.

"From time to time I do a silent season mixes , especially when playing in outdoor venues , as i feel the music has a special connection with the outdoors . I recorded this podcast while playing live at statix festival 2015 , Malta . playing only tracks from the wandering 2 compilation , which has more than 3 hours of blissful music"..

We are very excited to welcome Axel back to Pornographic and things get ignited right from the beginning, with the title track’s sneaky bassline and locomotive rhythm section providing intense momentum, as the affair constantly builds to reach a climax of discordant synths.  Things take quite a different turn on “Blue Hole” with the mood toughening up thanks to the bubbling bass and infectious synth riff, which is, of course followed by an apocalyptic breakdown.

Just recently THNTS has discovered electronic music, before he was mostly interested in Hardcore, Black- and Doom-metal. 
A record collector and enthusiast he especially appreciated the created atmosphere. Soon he began to find the similarities in atmosphere and sound also in experimental kinds of techno.His DJ-sets resemble this development: sometimes driving, sometimes dreamy, but always telling a tale. 
After 1,5 years of involvement in the apathy crew he was a founding member of the new project ESCH which was born in the beginning of 2016.

Everybody has a little bit of the sun and moon in them. Everybody has a little bit of man, woman, and animal in them. Darks and lights in them. Everyone is part of a connected cosmic system. Part earth and sea, wind and fire, with some salt and dust swimming in them. We have a universe within ourselves that mimics the universe outside. None of us are just black or white, or never wrong and always right. No one. No one exists without polarities. Everybody has good and bad forces working with them, against them, and within them.

"This mix was inspired by my friends, the people I am most closely connected to. I wanted to create something calm and beautiful, to offer some brief respite and escape. I might compile a tracklist at some point, but for now please just disconnect, zone out, and enjoy the mix. It was recorded in one take at home in Tokyo, October 2016. Campfire Stories 19 (Connections) by Chris SSG

As both a DJ and producer, @refracted-music is coming into his own. The past year has seen him release the lush Through the Spirit Realm LP on @silent-season, secure slots on the summer festival circuit and hit the studio to work on a host of new productions, to be released on his own Mind Express label and elsewhere. His career has taken him from his hometown of Majorca to Berlin, a city which has allowed him to pursue music more actively and to carve out a space of his own within the techno scene.

Refracted took the headline shift at the September edition of Patterns of Perception, treating us to three hours of intense, intelligent techno which weaved masterfully between various tones, textures and emotions. To help us relive the night, we are happy to present an hour-long recording of his set.

Edanticonf  [ Eclipsemusic / Silent Season ] Italy

After coming back from Hamburg to his home city Turin, Edoardo Zerbinati totally reorganized his life, together with setting up a new studio in the town.

Back in that cloudy, rainy, romantic place where he was initiated to the Techno music culture, he saw the release of his debut album on Silent Season and, after that, the label has been selected as “label of the month” by Resident Advisor.

Some months later, the canadian label also put out an Edanticonf’s EP with a remix by the mysterious Sweden producer Abdulla Rashim. This collaboration on a limited vinyl was charted in the Top Techno Chart by some of the most important vinyl shops through the world.

All the textures in this set are written and produced by Edoardo Zerbinati with using mainly analog equipment (additional production by Iori and Decoside, remixed by Edanticonf). A lot of pieces of music are unreleased or played in a live version and due to this reason it’s not possible to attach a complete track list. The man and the perception of the infinite are the main themes of his compositions; Techno music lends itself to this goal with the integration of sounds inspired by natural landscapes.
