Before the pandemic began, two members of our collective, Steve Duncan and Kim Bergstrand, went to a techno party together in Helsinki where they saw a standout live set from local artist HOMI (@kiuas). In Steve’s words, his sound came across as delicate, detailed and psychedelic, yet also with groove and power. They connected with HOMI (real name Harri Homi) afterwards, setting the wheels in motion for the second release on the Patterns of Perception label.

In the lead up to the release of HOMI’s Välitila EP on November 4, we’re excited to share the recording of a recent live jam Harri recorded at his studio in Helsinki. This jam is reflective of his distinctive sound, gliding from moments of lean, Detroit-infused energy into rolling, kaleidoscopic vistas tinged with (more than) a hint of acid. But what feels even clearer during these 55 minutes is Harri's improvisational and intuitive approach, which takes us on a free-flowing journey that's both unpredictable and irresistible.

Tatsuoki (Broad | Undulate | JP)

He started his DJ career in 2011. His DJ is the perfect tuneing for the dance floor and his sound genre is many techno from Deep Hypnotic, Acid, Trance, Breakbeats and Psychedelic.He is an artist who is loved by many people because he plays crossover and adventurous techno while reading the atmosphere of the floor. Tatsuoki released his dj mix from Dino Sabatini’s Outis Music Podcast in Italy on 2016, and also from "Out System" at Germany, "Oslated" at Korea, "Munitum" at Italy, TechnoTrippin' and Archaic at Spain.
Tatsuoki launched his own event "Broad" at Tokyo in 2012 and he was stick to crossover and adventurous techno for sound genre.So, he booked many famous and active all over the world Techno Artist of UK Bristol bass, Detroit electro, and Hard and Deep Hypnotic. Then, it had grown into a techno party that represents Contact Tokyo.
In the spring of 2020, he moved to Fukuoka to learn about the new scene, and started a new activity on Kieth Flack, which is also an important local venue. He also continues to make his event "Broad" on there, and now he is booking techno artists from Japan and abroad every other month to make Fukuoka's current techno scene. And his goal in the future will be active in national and international and played at HÖR Berlin on May 2023 and will do his best at Korea tour on July.
