There’s something special about clicking with someone musically, aesthetically, and on a human level. That’s exactly how we feel about our collaboration with Mostra Festival, which is entering its third year. We’re thrilled to introduce some of the talent performing at the 2025 edition and to continue this creative exchange with our friends from Spain.

Mostra 2025 happens April 17-20 at two brand-new locations. With two waves of artists already announced, it’s clear that the high bar set by previous editions has once again been met. Expect the finest in ambient, experimental, avant-garde, and techno. The final wave of artists will be revealed tomorrow, February 12—keep an eye on the festival’s socials for the full announcement. More details on the lineup, new venues, and everything Mostra-related will be coming soon to our page.

Today’s guest mix comes from an artist we’ve been following closely: Mariachiara Troianiello, aka Katatonic Silentio. An Italian producer, DJ, and researcher, she moves between electronic music, performing arts, and sound studies, blending abstraction with club energy. Active as a DJ for over 15 years, her sets oscillate between an analog past and a fast-moving future—sometimes dreamy and introspective, other times razor-sharp and unpredictable.
This January, she was part of ExtraMostra event at Berlin’s OHM, where Mostra & Midgar joined forces. Alongside DjSport, Forest Drive West, Keplrr, and Severja, she delivered a mind-bending set in a packed-out club that couldn’t fit everyone who wanted in.

For her guest mix in our series, Katatonic Silentio explores dub techno in her own meticulous way—controlled, intentional, and always with a sense of movement. The first hour plays with restraint, each track given space to breathe, while subtle shifts build an unspoken tension. Just when you think you’ve settled into the groove, she nudges things into unexpected territory—tightening the pulse, throwing in off-kilter patterns, and steering toward a more kinetic, unpredictable second hour. It’s a mix that keeps you on your toes, unfolding with precision rather than force. A refined trip from an artist who never takes the obvious route.

Delayed x Mostra: Katatonic Silentio

We warmly welcome Dani & Irimias (@danisivar & @irimiass) to our WHiTMIX series with a live recording from their 2024 set at MNMT festival @monument-podcast

The Stockholm-based diggers discovered a shared love for diverse flavours of music, through their initial connection at Monument in its inception years. Forging a long-lasting friendship you can feel reflected in their mix.

"We had a lot of fun playing this set together as we felt a lot of freedom to do our own thing with the timeslot (23:40-03:30), playing on the second stage (Haven) and knowing the festival very intimately. It was especially fun as we had played there the year before as well together with @celadon, opening the main stage on Saturday. So to get to do a night time set with some weirder selections was a blast.

This section of the mix is from the middle of the set and we felt it represents the overall mood the best."

This week's animix comes from the incredible duo, Atrice (@atricemiras) - a mystical pairing who are part of a pool of insanely talented artists in the small Central European state, Switzerland -  there is a seemingly bursting ratio of talent per capita in this country!.

Drawing inspiration from everyday encounters and digital overstimulation, Atrice's music is refreshing, unique and modern - idm, experimental & bass driven - it somehow also sits perfectly amongst the class & purity of old school & solidified genres like dub, bass, techno - which is seen in their releases on labels like Illian Tape. 

On top of their productions and live sets, Lino & Pablo extend their craft with their on theme DJ'ing - always presenting new & exciting.. and always making perfect sense. For their animix, a beautiful journey through dub and beyond.

Animix One Hundred & Eighty One: Atrice

The fire at the center of the floor was more signal than warmth against the countryside chill. Sparks shot upward into the night as dancers circled around, bodies locked into the pulse spilling from the booth. Above Below Festival thrives on these elemental juxtapositions: a rural valley transformed into a site of intensity, a cocoon-like booth channeling waves of sound that felt larger than the space itself. With every kick drum, the edges of the night blurred, and for hours the crowd existed in a suspended orbit around light, heat, and rhythm.

It was here that Timesplitters, Jake and Pat, took hold. Their set drove forward on cavernous bass, but the force alone wasn’t what bound the floor; it was the shifting mid-range voices, synth lines and melodic sequences mutating like smoke from the fire, wrapping dancers in a narrative of tension and release. They approached the set less as selectors and more as authors, tracing the night with a balance of discipline and wildness. Despite their name, there was no split in time, only the sense of one continuous current, shared in firelight, smiles, and unbroken motion.

It's one thing to hop on the decks with someone during peak time at a party in a packed room like the first time Haruka and I played together in NYC but it's another to open a party during the last leg of RTTS weekend. So we started talking about the set a couple of months beforehand, but nothing really prepares you until you're in the middle of RTTS weekend itself. We were texting and chatting about the setup and direction throughout the weekend and eventually landed on keeping things a little funky and fun.  Playing with someone with a similar approach to DJing and also range really made the set feel so effortless for me and I feel that cohesion and the fun we had translated quite well to those that were in attendance.

We were both booked to play a Bunker party that night and with an hour left before our room was about to shut down, I asked Craig to jump on for an unplanned B2B.  Craig had already set the room up with a deep, super-diverse selection and then vibe in our room was so good, I will never forgot it. So when IT asked us to do it again we got hyped.

RTTS, Detroit
Our slot opened the last day of the three-day marathon, and other parties were running in the daytime too, so it felt like one long 72-hour session. Craig also played Movement. It was my first time in Detroit, so I wandered around, popped into a bunch of events, but spent every night back at Tangent Gallery with Craig—talking, listening to other artists, and getting a real feel for the room. That helped us lock in the vibe and refine the ideas we’d been tossing around for months.

The set
Two words kept coming up: funky and fun (maybe sexy too). I played only a few recent tracks but most were older finds with some electro slipped in naturally. In hindsight the whole thing was a back-and-forth between electro and deep, psychedelic techno, with extra flavours layered on top.

A creative interpretation of a (moon)epicycle: 

race past the silver/blue light; reflected from the oldest satellite in our solar system. Cotton clusters and vapor dunes moving through a vast ocean of space-time continuum. The backdrop stretches endlessly beyond our minds. Careless. The charcoal colored mirrorball channels frequencies that bring to life, those who are not asleep, wide awake, roaming in shadow of diffused radiation coming from a distant fireball busy making daylight for others. Ever looping, the night brings light and dark and feels terrifying, soft and gentle at the same time. Time and time again, cycling for at least forever.
