"Stella Z, a London-based selector and producer originally from China, is one of six artists chosen for the Future Proof artist programme by the legendary Rhythm Section label. Known for her captivating soundscapes, she artfully blends organic and object sounds with nature-inspired textures.

Stella first gained recognition with her debut LP, In The Woods, Will Be Late, released by Third Place Records in February 2023. The EP, which features effervescent sonic journeys inspired by her mountainous seaside hometown in
China, has received acclaim and support from industry heavyweights like Ben UFO, Alexis Le-Tan, Cosmo Vitelli, and Ciel, as well as from media outlets including The Vinyl Factory, Mixmag Asia, and Electronic Sound. Her downtempo remix of "Red Sun" for Echo Juliet released in May 2024 has
been spotlighted twice on BBC Radio 6 Music, further establishing her signature sound.

Beyond the studio, Stella has opened for esteemed artists such as Marcellus Pittman, Bolis Pupul, Sean Johnston, and Mogwaa. Her DJ sets span a wide range of genres, from slow pulse, psychedelic burners to tribal rhythms and industrial beats, all while uncovering hidden Asian dance gems."

Japanese duo @opalsunn, a.k.a. @alexkassian & @hiroakioba, take their love for machine-made electronic music and create free-spirited, intricately-layered musical landscapes.

Since their first studio release on @planetsundae in 2017, they have crafted a niche for themselves with energetic, percussive live sets featuring travelling acid baselines and expansive ambient textures.

Featuring field recordings, esoteric samples, and an unlikely confluence of musical imageries, the duo's Patterns of Perception 45 sees them lingering in warm, brilliant ambient spaces punctuated by irresistibly forward-moving percussive sequences which evoke visions of their homeland.

Patterns of Perception 45 - Opal Sunn

Solar Langevin is something of an underground hero in his native San Francisco, a hard working DJ, promoter and label boss who has spent many years supporting his local scene. Back in 1994 Solar, alongside friends Galen & J Bird, began the Sunset Sound System parties and has managed to keep up a contribution to San Francisco night life ever since. In 2014 Solar achieved international recognition via Amsterdam’s Dekmantel with invitations to play in Europe and since then has witnessed his visibility on the international stage increase. Solar has submitted a colourful and distinctive podcast for us featuring a wide array of sonic fractals blended together in a unique kaleidoscope of sound. We’re proud to be able present the work of someone who has worked hard for so long for something they love. In the short interview that follows we managed to share a few words with Solar about his work and why he does what he does.
