Whether it be releasing on Vancouver's juggernaut ambient imprint @silent-season or his most recent release on Chicago's @kranky, Jacob Long's 'Earthen Sea' project has subtly amassed an impressive back catalogue over the years. 
Effortlessly coalescing the delicate strains of dub techno with ambient, spoken word and drone, Long creates music that instantaneously depicts a vivid environment for the listener to immerse themselves in. 
His contribution to our Inchmix series delivers that same tangibility, and provides a proper exploration into the abyss. 

About this mix:
"This mix, though unintended, seems to me to reflect the changing season that is upon us.  Shorter days, more night, grey skies and cool temperatures (for the most part) here in New York.  
I don't know why but the vibe/feel of the UK electronic music i really like resonates that vibe to me.  
So this mix starts in a ambient/spacey/dubby zone moves into some drums and then backs out in dubbed out fashion.  Peace."

INCHMIX047: Earthen Sea

Seattle-based @simictacoma uses unique textures and musical emotions to explore the spaces between house and techno. Both a DJ and a producer, he is a resident of @secondnatureseattle collective with whom he has a new 12" on the way later this year, which follows on from memorable contributions to @acidcamp and his 2017 secondnature debut, amongst others.

With Patterns of Perception 49, he explores his own vision of deeper techno with music that is engaging, transportive and spacious, favouring textures and melodic elements that vividly transport the listener to another place.
