Undeniably one of my biggest inspirations, the ever-talented @kondukukonduku presents a mix in his signature style, a unique soundscape of charming rhythms and melodies.

I've been a big fan of the Konduku ever since his debut album, Kiran, on @nousklaeraudio in 2018. Since then, Ruben has released an impressive and diverse catalogue on labels such as Spazio Disposable, Delsin & Idle Hands, often drawing on his Turkish heritage.

Beyond his incredible productions, Konduku is known for long, mind melting and crafty DJ sets & mixes. His closing set at De School for ADE in 2019 was one of my favourite DJ sets to date!

The recording of the mix I made for @lowless-music's Rinse France show on the 30th of September 2022. 

I wanted this mix to be a kind of part-2 to the show I did at The Lot Radio in NY back in February in 2020 (if any of you remember that one - https://soundcloud.com/syberkid/thelotradio).

Basically, another mix journeying through hazy-deep-broken-strange music. I have a playlist under that name, where anything that feels like this lives, and as we head back towards colder weather, it’s these tunes I’m reaching for.

The mix criss-crosses through deep techno, inquisitive percussion, lazybreaks, slowed-dubstep, and ye I dunno, some gnarly alien noises? The main thing I wanted to capture is a central sort of frazzled feeling around the edges of the sounds, and a morphing gelatinous groove which feels like it could fractalise in unexpected directions.

In anticipation of the 2023 edition of the MOSTRA Festival, with whom we joined forces to present you music from some of the most exciting and talented producers and DJs worldwide, in the next couple of weeks, we'll feature several truly outstanding music tales. 

The first mix in our 'Delayed x Mostra' mix series comes from the incredible French producer and DJ based in Germany, Aa Sudd, who has in this past year released two of the most groundbreaking and avant-garde albums of the moment: one with Konduku as Konsudd and another released just a month or so ago on Midgar. 

Aa Sudd's mix is a true masterpiece exploring the dub's hypnotic and atmospheric realms. With intricate and captivating polyrhythms, this mix takes listeners on a psychedelic journey through sound. The various rhythms blend seamlessly, creating a truly otherworldly experience when you listen to it on your headphones.

Aa Sudd will play on the festival's opening day, Thursday, April 6, from 9-11 pm at the Hangar.

Local
The pandemic highlighted the importance of local communities, local institutions and local support for one another. We at Mostra continue the commitment to our Local, not only by programming local artists on the line-up, but also through how we choose our suppliers and other collaborations in the city. And we go further: an exhibitors' Fira for the duration of the festival, generating our own media content during the year through MostRadio, the Mostra’m series of debates, seminars and conferences in parallel with the festival, and our ExtraMostra series of events in venues across Barcelona place Mostra’s roots firmly in their local environment.

Inclusive
Mostra is a festival that reflects on the realities that surround us in electronic music. We are committed to breaking the gender gap in a scene that is traditionally very masculinised. We try to reflect this in our programming, in our team, and in the values we promote: we want a friendly and safe space where there is no room for any kind of violence, and where respect for diversity is fundamental. We have developed our own protocol with a gender perspective, and we seek to raise awareness in a transversal way throughout the project.

Sustainable
Mostra is a festival that seeks to be a social and environmental benchmark through its actions. We follow the most up-to-date sustainable protocols and develop good practice in relation to both city and planet. We have created the role of Sustainability Director who leads and implements an action plan based on sustainable experiences; we limit the programming of artists from overseas to reduce our carbon footprint; and we are committed to contracting and collaborating with social integration and social and solidarity organisations from Barcelona.

As a resident at the respected club Elysia, he's had the opportunity to showcase his unique sound on some notable stages around the globe, from the Labyrinth Festival in Japan to Organik Festival in Taiwan and many more. 
With a career spanning over a decade, Agonis has released music on his own label Amenthia recordings, which he co-founded with Garçon as well as international labels such as Smoke Machine, Kynant and Traumgarten. In 2021 he released his debut album "Neutropia" which has been well-received by the critics.

Developing her style from age 17 in the squats and industrial spaces of Basel, @timnah-sommerfeldt’s warm, reverberating techno cuts span the genre and beyond. Through residencies at Hinterhof Bar and (nowadays) Elysia and her monthly radio show "Home" on Radio Ghost Town (which she co-hosts with @garcon), Sommerfeldt’s sets effortlessly transcend elements of electro, techno and house music, featuring strong emotional narratives and an intuitive understanding of dancefloor dynamics.

Her Patterns of Perception 51 is no exception, weaving sounds from across the musical spectrum into a poignant and compelling narrative that pulses with echoes of drum & bass, ambient and techno: a whole truly greater than the sum of its parts.
