Known for her hypnotic dives to the psychedelic reaches of deep techno, London-based @freyacaldwell signature style emphasises meticulous sound design and the incorporation of lush and evocative textures. 

Having graced the stages of renowned venues and festivals throughout Europe, she has appeared at prestigious locations such as Amsterdam's De School, the Positive Education Festival, and London's own Village Underground.

Faery's Patterns of Perception 118 circles around echoes, resonances and hauntings, shifting between shadowy low-ends and moments of ecstatic crescendo. Encapsulating the tension and drama held in dnb's darker edges, the mix also weaves in touches of eerie contemporary classical-esque ambient.

Patterns of Perception 118 - Faery

Hailing from Amsterdam and with De School as his homebase, @nawazworldwide’s sound is always evolving, sliding deftly from wormhole techno to fast rhythms and glitchy electronics.

His selections on this Patterns of Perception 119 melt together while also reinforcing each other, each transition subtler than the last, sometimes even employing his own tailor-made tools and tracks for the purpose.

Beginning from a visual image, this mix blends diverse rhythms and atmospheres, offering a story line from which the listener can create their own narrative, their own image, free of imposition.

Marking the culmination of 2023, our final mix features the debut release from one of our own, @zilkamarie. As the driving force behind comms within our collective, Zilka's music inspiration is drawn from the diverse array of artists she collaborates with.

Recorded live at Jacopo (@severja) and Fred’s (@fred-czital) Hitze party back in July, the set follows on from a daytime open air while also opening the after party. Progressing from wet, spacious ambient sounds to dubby, irresistible beats, Patterns of Perception 120 captures and plays with quintessential afterhours vibes.

Hailing from Germany and now based in Portugal, @vril_01 has in recent years been quietly producing and performing some truly extraordinary electronic music. Going from strength to strength, he takes dancefloors on vivid, compelling journeys across Europe and beyond.

Patterns of Perception 121 takes us back to a very special live ambient set .VRIL performed at @nachtdigital MINT 2019, an immersive hour of lucid textures and swelling intensity.

Planet Euphorique is the name of @d-tiffany’s label, but also a perfect summation of her sound: musically she reworks rave, euphoria, trance, electro, breakbeat and techno into all out emotional onslaughts that get hands in the air and chests swelling with joy. The Canadian - who also runs the xpq? label - has always got things done on her own terms, from running parties in her own house in Vancouver to making dance music with the gear she had previously used as part of a band via setting up her own women-focused Intersessions DJ school.

The mixing is tight and urgent and after initially serving up plenty of lush moments of melody and IDM introspection, it grows all the more direct and unhinged later on.

You might already be familiar with Resom (@resi-resom)’s story: originally from the German state of Thuringia, she started out throwing parties in abandoned spaces in Leipzig, the city that was central to her musical education. Since moving to Berlin, she’s found a home as a resident DJ at ://about blank. Along the way, she’s become a prominent voice in the electronic music scene, both musically and politically, believing the politics is as important to expression and communication as the music itself. 

Her Patterns of Perception 62 is part of a sound triptych of three connected mixes, a series that both explores and reflects her feelings about this difficult collective moment of ours. Unlike the diverse and eclectic party sets for which she has become known, here she takes it down a gear and delivers an ambient mix embedded in nature - offering up the perfect soundtrack for a walk in the woods, a long meditative run, or just quiet home reflection as we adjust to the new world order.

As we collectively take a moment to ruminate and ponder an uncertain future, the music stays with us, guiding us through the sullen seclusion of the moment. Our next guest Andrey PUSHKAREV has a particular way of wrapping the listener in an endless blanket of warm resonant chords, slowly subduing them into a contemplative trance. Hailing from the hardened landscapes of Russia, he has made a name for himself as a top purveyor of deep, dubby grooves that uplift into insight. Using music as a medium, he externalizes the infinite complexities of his reality into a simple yet all-encompassing passage of sound.
