Nicole (@nicole-popkhadze) is one of the most exciting artists to have emerged from Tbilisi’s legendary electronic music scene in recent years. Having been active as a DJ since the age of 17, she has carved out a niche in Georgia and throughout Europe with her energetic, emotive sets that range from old-school acid techno through intelligent minimal and beyond.

Her Boiler Room set at local institution @bassiani in 2018, which celebrated that venue’s reopening following a wave of protests against raids and shutdowns of Tbilisi’s club scene, cemented Nicole as one of Georgia’s foremost DJs and producers. She has gone on to release her first solo EP through @marco_shuttle’s label, @eerie-records, and her track “Luna” featured earlier this year on @nina-kraviz’s трип (@triprecordings) compilation, Hot Steel.
This mix for Patterns of Perception explores a range of musical dimensions, taking into kaleidoscopic, experimental sonic spaces.

As the sun goes down the forest starts to come to life, it becomes harder to follow the path that you took in and you find yourself in unfamiliar territory. 

You panic for a moment as you realise you have lost your sense of direction. Before you know it, it's dark and you are lost, deep in beating heart of the forest.. After a short while you give up panicing, the paranoia falls away as you surrender to what is happening. 

So you start to follow the mind bending sounds that are echoing through the trees, creatures eyes appear in the darkness, and begin to light the way, by this point you are finding it hard to differentiate between what is real and what is some kind of hallucinatory apparition. 

After what feels like forever you emerge from the dense undergrowth in to a moonlit clearing, the sounds are loud now, all talking to each other in some kind of hypnotic composition. To your surprise you find a DJ surrounded by what seem to be mythical creatures.. You start to question if perhaps you were supposed to get lost in the woods, and by being lost you found exactly what you were looking for..
