The first impulse for Bass clarinet and percussion instruments. 
Franz Lizst's sonata b minor for piano was a great source of inspiration for this composition. It is a masterpiece that gave a new form of musical expression. Lizst was the man who retired as an artist. The artist of the soul. 
The theme at 'The first impulse' here is creative inspiration, with the question always being, what is this inspiration? Is it an error, or is it the repetitions and the efffects of it.

Given the fact that Bach often adapted his music for other instruments, how sure can we be that the music is really for the cello? 
Partly after reading this book, I came up with the idea to approach Bach's cello No.2 d-small (BWV 1008) from different zeitgeist, and use it as inspiration for string quartet.
There is so much to hear in the suite that left me wondering how can I bring out a different experience, as it were, with respect for the original, as Another view.

For the Ice II, also sounding as For the Eyes Too alludes to the visual aspect of the work, composed as a dance piece for two female dancers. The structure of the work, is based on the Japanese nõ dance Chu No Mai (literally meaning ‘moderate dance’).

Episode Cinquième for cello (1983)

Composed at the beginning of 1983, this work, following Berio’s example, is the fifth of a series of nine pieces named episode, featuring different solo instruments. It is also the first I devoted to a stringed instrument. Next would come episodes for viola, electric guitar, double bass and clarinet.

In Episode #5, rather than virtuosity, I have chosen to emphasize the exceptional lyrical qualities of the cello, while however, keeping them at all times under control through a rigorous yet flexible structure. Anecdotally, this structure  is based on the notes of a congratulation message I sent Antoine Vitez, on his appointment at the head of the Théâtre de Chaillot.

Episode Cinquième was premiered in Paris in 1985 by Sonia- Wieder-Atherton.

Dutch composer Paul Frankhuijzen (1956) calls himself a composer of natural movement. 
Paul often uses various socio-cultural issues as inspiration for his work. Thereby the main 
theme is not confrontation, on the contrary, it is the inspiration. 

Paul studied the following subjects:
composition ad Tilburg Conservatory by Daan Manneke and Alexandru Hrisanide and Sonology ad 
The Institute for Sonology in Utrecht. 
lessons in singing Early Music. 
Ensemble directing and orchestra as practice teacher with Jac Van Steen. 

He composing for different festivals and ensembles.  For example Mondriaan quartet, Monica Germino, Mantagni quartet, Novermusic festival, Festival of New Adeas Cambrridge University.
