1990 - Proto-trance

The first of a series of mixes that charts the evolution of trance, from it's roots in the early 90s to the world domination of the turn of the century.  This one takes in some KLF tracks from 1988 and 1989.  A very different sound from the sound of modern trance but the building blocks are there - the hypnotic rhythms,  the sweeping synths.

While his heart lies with a pure, focussed trance sound, he is not afraid to delve into the deeper and darker areas of the record box and this is reflected in his flexibility as a DJ. He can play an early, middle or late set depending on feel of the night.
