THE SWEET WISDOM OF A WHIMSICAL LOSS

Another composition recorded before the war. I hope one day I will return to my home studio. Any support from you is much appreciated on these extremely hard times for our country, our family. 
I could have recorded much new music for the last 9 months... unless russians came to our yard to "save" us with their tanks, missiles, bombs and war planes at 4 a.m. on Feb 24th. And yes, they saved us from our house, from our normal life, from our dreams and plans. They saved my elderly parents from their home and peaceful life in retiring, saved my daughter from happy childhood, from school, from her friends and vacation by the sea. We'll never forget and never forgive it! I'm sure that russia will get what it deserves - each rocket they launch on Ukraine will turn to another 10 years of disaster for their cowardly people.

At the time of the birth of jazz, the role of the guitar was primarily as a rhythm instrument. I enjoyed this recording while remembering the lives of the great guitar players of the time, wondering what it would be like if we translated that atmosphere into a modern style.  I would like you to listen to this track and get an idea of the sound of the "D7 and G7" chords added to the original sound source. Also, learn how to trace the scale when using the "D7 and G7" chords.
First of all, "D7" = "D", so in the Western musical scale, Bm/D pentatonic comes to mind as a scale that can be used there. .
And one more thing: using "D7" directly leads to the use of the blues scale. When the chord is "D7", it is natural to try playing Dm/F pentatonic.

Through the soaring crescendo, the Symphony culminates in a radiant blaze of glory, emphasizing the melody of love.

My dear Dad was always with me when I was a child, but now we've been apart for over 2 years due to the war. My parents' home exists only in my memory. A remixed oldie. Warning: The lyrics of this song contain depictions of interpersonal violence and suicide. That said: Hello… Glad you dropped by. Since I have been busy gardening lately, I haven’t been on SoundCloud all that much. But today… June 17th, it has been cold and rainy, with some snow (yes, snow!) predicted for tonight. So I have tarps and covers ready to go, to cover the frost sensitive plants. Years ago, when I first posted songs here, my exuberance often blinded me to just how bad those songs were. So I ended up posting and deleting songs all the time. Once a dude asked if I was using a mic, as the ‘white noise’ machine hiss of the HD was unbearable. He said it in the kindest of ways. I did end up getting a mic and also did a song thanking him. Other times, I used to introduce my songs with a deep, drawling voice. That was hilariously comedic. Another dude laughed so hard when I was first learning to sing. I posted a song with me warbling from baritone to high falsetto…. OMG. Later, I laughed too. People here were graciously patient and kind as I struggled to learn music way back when. Unlike a friend’s parents who chased him in an effort to take away his banjo and he never played music again. So thanks for bearing with me, as I test out vocal harmonies that really don’t work, or just wing a song, with no rhyme of reason. Or when I rant and howl about this or that. Because that kindness has allowed me to explore music in a way I never would have before.  Mark
