All synth and drum sounds are from the waldorf rocket synthesizer. Multitrack mix with reverb, delay, EQ and compressor added. Samples are from the Big Bang Theory, Misfits and What's my line.

Dominator Track 2 Remake Preview

A hastily patched and sequenced "demo" of my new Erebus. Unfortunately it was recorded poorly, using a noisy setup that was about as far from ideal as it could possibly get.

Please don't doubt that I'm doing all I can to fix my current, mostly broken recording situation. Until then, consider this a tease, because Erebus sounds so much better than this crumby recording even vaguely implies.

Erebus - apologies for dodgy recording

A warts and all recording of a bleary eyed, late night jam. 

The patch is built from a small semi-modular combo; the Dreadbox Erebus and Arturia Microbrute. It was recorded direct into a Teenage Engineering OP-1 with little spring reverb but the dirty BBD in the Erebus was doing most of the work. (Incidentally the BBD was also lightly modulated to provide some light 'vibrato' in the delay)

 I used both the Arturia's keyboard (via CV) and the OP-1 keyboard (via MIDI). Doing so gave different results as the Microbrute can only trigger notes monophonically (only 1 CV and Gate) but the OP-1's midi connection allowed me to make use of the Erebus's paraphony and as such, meant that the drone oscillator (I was only sending pitch cv to osc 1) received Note CC.

The result is messy (I'm no musician) but I find it strangely evocative at times,

Paul and I just mucking about with two pure analog synths - the Oberheim Matrix 6 and the "new" Korg MS20 mini!

The Korg MS20 Mini was released this week - it is a fully re-built from scratch Korg MS20 analog synthesizer with pretty much all the same parts as the original in the 70s.

It's a fun little box of sound!
