Monnom Black presents Umwelt's new studio album “Dead Eyes Society”, a stunning piece of work and the culmination of 30 years of artistic refinement. Umwelt is a truly rare underground electronic artist in the world of Techno and is without doubt one of the most important and prolific French electronic producers of a generation. A techno activist since the 90’s boasting over 50 releases to date. Throughout his career he has crafted a pure analog, unmistakable, signature sound, mixing dark, cinematic melancholy with the electro-techno grit he is so renowned for.

The sound of the album is influenced by late 90’s and early 00’s techno contrasted with an avant-garde approach to recording and sound design. Throughout the album Umwelt lays down beautiful grooves and his space techno melodies in uncompromising fashion, blended with classic synthwork and run through his famous analog outboard chains. With “Dead Eyes Society” Umwelt has crafted his most powerful techno album to date and solidified himself as an exceptional artist
and titanic figure of modern electronic music.

Picture by acclaimed photographer Cam Linh, her work has been featured across multiple Parisian exhibitions and has worked closely with Umwelt over the past years.

Drawing Inspiration from London's Underground dance scene, Descendants of Sinners is a result of an ongoing, passionate desire from Dax fusing modern day Techno with the sound of classic UK rave culture. 2015 has been a big year for Dax. He's seen successful debut appearances at Berghain and Glastonbury as well as his very well received EarToGround residency with Jaded at Corsica Studios and soon his long awaited debut appearance at fabric. There is a lot more we can say about the tracks individually but instead we'll let the Techno do the talking. Tracks included are being played and supported by the likes of Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Len Faki, Par Grinvik, Luke Slater, Henning Baer, Truncate, Marcel Finger, Chris Liebing, Paul Mac and Anthony Parasole. The triple vinyl release features 14 hand-picked contributions from the label’s trusted collaborators alongside cutting-edge artists new to the roster; making this compilation one of the label’s most varied and innovative collections yet.

On The World of Monnom Black II, new artists including VTSS, DIMI (AnD), Vladimir Dubyshkin, Hadone, Fractions, LDS, Aahan and Buried Secrets all throw down tracks which fuse tight machine rhythms with intricate detail. There's also a return for many established label favourites such as UVB, Dax J, Zanias and Thomas P. Heckmann as Knarz.

To round out the compilation there’s a re-release of the timeless 1998 cut, “Devious Methods,” from legendary artist Hive, and Tellurian’s hardcore classic, “Big Bad City,” gets a new mix from Dax J.

This release further confirms Monnom Black’s reputation for representing raw analogue music and cements the label’s place as the home of some of the roughest and classiest contemporary sounds in techno.

In ancient and medieval times archetypal witches were seen as the healers in their societies, sought out for their abilities to cure people of their physical and mental ailments.
The Witch places a focus on the natural world as a source of their knowledge and power, seeking from it the answers which she needs in order to be able to heal the physical, mental and spiritual ailments of those around them.
The modern archetypal Witch is of a woman in touch with the spirits or Gods and thus imbued with tremendous power. As such she represents feminine power.
She is aware of both her power to destroy and to create, and understands how to wield this power in herself and her world. When we begin to embody this archetype, not only as a symbol but as ourselves, we can create lives that are not consuming us with output, but rather feeding us. The result is, we have more to give to others.
