Étude No. 36 is a remake of a piece I made around one year ago, which has been used as the last track for my ambient live set (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1WDycZ1vmk). The vocals are by Eckhart Tolle - a spiritual teacher and the author of “The Power of Now”, one of the most influential books for me personally. The POAN Collaborations EP is a journey into musical kinship. It is a project spawned from the idea that we can create so much more potent art when we come together and combine our strengths to create something that we could never create on our own. These collaborations were birthed out of the musical genius of Lorenzo Mantovani of the ambient instrumental project POAN (his project with Giacomo Barbari). Lorenzo put together seven different loop packs using his wide range of instruments which were then passed on to these producers to create something totally new out of the recordings. Each track takes on a whole new life of it’s own with the unique beat driven approach of each individual producer. The collaborations range from high energy dance tracks to deep hypnotic introspective journeys with everything in between. May this collaborative effort be a testament to the potency of coming together as a collective musical family.
