Elina was a lady who came to some of our gigs. She laughed and cried ALOT, held the hand of whoever she was talking to, so people avoided her. But she truly FELT music, was awake. One day she pulled out an old business card with her name and letters on it, said 5 years earlier she'd been a surgeon, married with a big home then illness cost her everything, changed her, she was full of sadness but bliss too. I aspired to her openness, wondered if it had all made her greater in a strange way. Written by Elizabeth Geyer / all copyrights reserved - recorded by Russell Finch. Another of my recordings with my Mexican quartet, "King Prawn & The Imperial Puppets"...Weary of haughty, holier than thou, perverse, homophobic individuals who attempt to push "their religion and morality" on others, i was inspired to write this song...i'm offended by the offended!  (yes, pun intended.)

Gay Guys and The Offended

...from my release "speak to me"...setting up a phone tap, i recorded all my phone conversations for seven months, transcribed all that was being said, coded it by subject (love, holidays, death, relationships, etc.) and then manually spliced voices together of people who'd never met, to create aural collages...finally, i put music behind the theater of voices...undoubtedly one of my most creative and psychologically cathartic works...friends were reticent to call me, fearing they'd have some blooper immortalized...

...from the disc "nothing but the truth"...this release is one smooth, slow, sensual, journey...okay, so the song "me and my banana" is as about as ridiculous as one can conceive...i admit it...but that's part of this package known as paul voudouris... :-D
