Leaving For War (Part 1 of the "Leaving For War" trilogy)

This is a piece I've been working on for songwriter/composer Hal Dickens. Hal wrote this as a fantasy love song from Esmeralda to Quasimodo, the Hunchback of Notre Dame. He will be recording this as a song later this year but in the meantime, here is my orchestral arrangement of Hal's original piano composition.

Returning From War (Part 3 of the "Leaving For War" trilogy)

This completes the Hal Dickens "Leaving For War" trilogy. This is actually the middle part of the trilogy, but it took longer to complete due to the fact there were four different artists working on it at seperate times, and from different corners of the globe. It's a duet featuring the incredible vocal talents of Elsie Lovelock and Redyy, with the great man himself, Hal Dickens on the piano. My job was just simple understated orchestrations to support the song, but this piece is all about the melodies and vocal performances. I hope you enjoy it.

WHY CAN'T THERE BE PEACE? (Part 2 of the "Leaving For War" trilogy)

Continuing the work I've been doing with composer/songwriter Hal Dickens, here is my orchestral arrangement of Hal's piano piece "Astral Lover IV", which has been renamed "Angels In My Bedroom" for reasons Hal himself will reveal at some point in the future. This was my biggest challenge to date, due to the nature of Hal's original piece, which contains so many different transistions, and changes of tempo etc, that it had me tearing my hair out in frustration at times. But it was worth it as it contains some of Hal's most beautiful melodies to date, and I think I just about got it near enough right in the end. I hope you enjoy it.

I used EAREVEB 2 for the stage positioning extensively throughout this track.

Hal's original music describes a scene from the survival horror novel "Survive The Night With Me" by Hailey Valentino, but I decided to take a different approach with my arrangement.
