About Chris Sterio:

Chris Sterio has been shaping the progressive house scene for more than two decades. Based on the Isle of Man, he has built a career spanning multiple projects, labels, and international performances that have carried his sound across the globe.

His journey began in 2000 with Source of Gravity, a duo project with Mark Wheawill that became known for its melodic and atmospheric approach to progressive house. The project gained support from Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, and Paul van Dyk, earning Sterio early recognition as a respected figure within the underground community.

Following Source of Gravity’s success, Chris launched Gravitation, and later founded Soundscapes Digital in 2013. Across these ventures, he has released and supported a wide network of international producers, amassing well over one hundred releases through his labels and sub-labels. Soundscapes Digital has remained a cornerstone of his creative identity, delivering forward-thinking progressive tracks defined by evolving melodies, layered textures, and rhythmic depth.

As a DJ, Sterio has performed in cities such as San Francisco, London, Athens, Manchester, Lisbon, Glasgow, Tampa Bay, Charlotte, and Bristol, with appearances at renowned venues including Heaven (London), Dry Bar (Manchester), Middlesbrough Arena, The Phoenix (Manchester), and Plas Soda (Athens). His productions and label releases have received airplay on BBC Radio 1, and have featured at Creamfields, Tribal Gathering, Burning Man, Café Mambo, and ADE.

Chris remains highly active in 2025, continuing to release a steady flow of new material that reflects the depth, creativity, and longevity of his craft. Alongside his studio work, he hosts the Soundscapes Digital radio show on Proton Radio, presenting carefully curated sets that connect listeners to the evolving sound of global progressive house.
