Sense IS is the electronic music project of Sergey Nikishkin and Igor Smolin, a DJ and production duo based in Samara, Russia. With deep roots in the Trans-Volga region, the pair have developed a sound that extends far beyond borders- blending emotion, rhythm, and melody into a distinctive take on progressive house.

Their productions strike a balance between deep atmospheres and dynamic grooves, often described as colourful, layered, and full of character. Each track reflects their personal approach to music-making: expressive, detail-oriented, and always grounded in feeling rather than formula.

Sense IS have released on respected European labels including Soviet Organic, Harabe Lab, Journey of the Soul, The Purr, Botanica, SkyTop, and Bekool Records. These platforms have helped bring their sound to a wider audience, earning them growing recognition in the progressive and deep house scenes.

They’ve received consistent support from fellow artists such as Ranta, Bodai, Alex Konstantinov, NAASA, Way Kiki, Jelly For the Babies, Matur, and Alexey Sonar, among others- reinforcing their place in a strong network of like-minded producers and DJs.

This time on MusicLab, we’re joined by Paul Cazzar — a DJ and radio host from Melbourne, Australia, whose life has been deeply intertwined with the rhythms and atmospheres of progressive house.

Inspired by the golden era of Sasha, John Digweed, and Anthony Pappa, Paul brings that legacy into the present with sets that are emotive, immersive, and narratively rich. Growing up amidst Melbourne’s vibrant underground scene, he developed a keen ear for music that moves people — not just physically, but emotionally.

Paul’s approach is rooted in storytelling. His sets flow with deep grooves, melodic tension, and cinematic textures that take listeners on a journey — a style that has become his signature both behind the decks and on the airwaves.

Beyond performing, Paul is a passionate advocate for the progressive house community. As a resident DJ on KISS FM Australia, he consistently shares his sound with a wide audience. He also curates two respected podcast platforms — Progsonic Sessions and White Label Progressive — spaces dedicated to showcasing fresh talent, building community, and keeping the underground spirit alive.
