A new composition about how I relate to the winter season and how it affects me. This is not a Holiday tune if that is what you are looking for. In general I am not a big fan of winter and I tend to hibernate like a bear until Spring returns.

Lyrics:

Clouds roll in like heavy thoughts,
Grey skies whisper secrets they never caught.
The winds from the north, they’re cutting like a knife,
Every breath I take feels like burning ice.


Branches shiver, bending to fate
Each step echoes softly, temptation to wait
The cold breeze of the season pulling me down
Wrapped in my blanket to keep me warm


And I know, oh I know
The world outside wears a blanket of white
As the streets become shadows, disconnecting the light
But in this chill, in the silence so still
I’m searching for solace and daring to feel


If I could paint the sky, I’d brush it with gold
Chase away the darkness and shadows so cold
But for now, I guess I’ll embrace the fray
Finding warmth in memories as I go on my way
                                                             
                                                          
So let the clouds roll in, let the world be grey
I’ll carry the light that the heart knows to sway
With each breath I take, I’ll let go of the chill
Embracing the silence, I’ll find strength in the still
