When my girlfriend Kirsten and I first got together she asked me to write her a song. This is that song.

After three years together we realized it wouldn't work pout between us, and during an argument I swore I'd never release this song.

In September of 2022 she passed away of a heart attack and we we were in a very good place having just come back from a camping trip. My plan was to surprise her on Dec 27 with the release of this song on her birthday.

She never got to hear it's final release. So, I'm sticking to my commitment.

I hope you enjoy this labor of love and memorial.

Before the vocals, before words gave it direction, there was already a shimmer waiting to be uncovered. A sound that carried the mountain’s essence before even being there – as if the music itself had foreseen the journey.

The instrumental version is that premonition. The unspoken heart of Shimmer – instinctive, timeless, and shaped by silence, horizons, and emotions that existed long before I realized them.

If the vocal version is the voice that lifts, this instrumental is the whisper that dreamed it first.
