This is the recording of my DJ set at Berghain on sunday morning 6th of February 2011, between 8 and 12am. Deep respect to Stroboscopic Artefacts for having me as part of the line-up, the Berghain crew for being the perfect hosts and last but not least that massive pack of dancing nutters on the floor (especially the Belgian delegation present for the occasion). Drumcell Live in Berlin

Recording of my live set from the weekend at Berghain. This is the first live set I've performed in something approaching five years so I wanted to try and do some things a little differently and include some more dubbier and melodic elements especially as the incredible sound at Berghain makes tracks like those work so well.

Anyway this is all new material I think at the moment only one track is released, a good few will be on the forthcoming album on EPM but there's a couple that will probably only be for this live set.

オランダのハーグ出身のサウンド・クリエイター、Dave Huismans(デイヴ・ハウスマンズ)によるソロ・プロジェクト(2562というのはオランダのハーグの地区コードらしい)。 Dogdaze(Flyin' High)名義でブレイクビーツ、A Made Up Sound(Philpot)名義でダウンビートといったようにサウンド・スタイルによって名義を使い分けている。2562は彼がダブステップのスタイル で活動するときの名義である。08年に1stフル・アルバム『Aerial』をPinch(ブリストルのダブステップのパイオニアの1人)が主宰するレー ベル<Tectonic>からリリースしており、このアルバムに収録されている「Channel TWO」「Techno Dread」「Kameleon」は07年にアナログでリリースされ、ダブステップのパーティで多くプレイされた。特に「Techno Dread」はすでにダブステップ・アンセムと言っていいほどシーンに浸透している。

―近況と最近の活動について教えてください。
 
最近はスタジオワークが忙しいね、、A Made Up Sound名義からリリースされる、わりとテクノっぽい感じの2枚の12インチを仕上げたところだよ。まず”Demons/Extra Time”は自分のレーベルからCloneディストリビューションでリリースされる。そのすぐあとにDelsin Recordsからもう１枚がリリースされる予定だよ。それからMetalheadzからリリースされるComixとスェーデンのテクノアクトSkudgeのためのリミックスがある。あとは、ちょっと休んだら2562名義の楽曲を書き始めるよ。

"Once a year in honor of the old Ostgut tradition, Berghain closes its doors to the straight crowd and unleashes a no-holds barred gay marathon where anything goes. Due to the circumstances of it being a different crowd and different vibe, I figured I'd upload the set which is a bit harder and funkier than I typically play." -DZ

Mark's classic 'Shooting Stars' was originally released on the late great 'Offshoot' label in 1998 and became an underground hit, seeing support from a variety of DJ's including Derrick May, Cajmere and of course, Ben Sims.

Fast forward 15 years and this uncompromising tough edged disco workout still gets dropped and is highly sought after on the second hand vinyl market, so we thought it was time for a respectful remix package.

First up is a brand new firing makeover from the man himself that jacks in all the right places while staying true to original groove, then label head honcho Ben Sims who drops an intense Lil Louis inspired reworking. Uk hero Aubrey gets Dark on us with an intricate and menacing remix while newly formed Fokus Group (aka Paul Mac & Ben Sims) pull no punches with a relentless and harsh interpretation (Vinyl Only).
