Sieben Monde

The words are from a poem that my grandad composed just before he was killed in action in world war 2. This poem was about my mum and my family didn't know the existence of this poem only until my mum passed away 6 months ago. The lie low in the photo he used to escape from Dunkirk and there is the only photo of my mum "baby blue" and her beloved farther.

Before the hurricane

The Arctic: a sprawling expanse of ice and snow, a realm ruled by subzero temperatures and unrelenting winds. For centuries, it has captured the imaginations of explorers and adventurers. Today, a small team of scientists embarks on a daring expedition into this frozen wilderness, chasing answers hidden beneath the ice.

The intro starts with soft piano motif echoing through gigantic walls of ice. Low string harmonies come in. Ice breaks, a rhythmic ostinato indicates a sense of danger and uncertainty.

It rises in a distorted crescendo and leads into the climax with a majestic horn melody accompanied by strings. In the repetition choir staccatos take over the ostinato while strings play a melody over the horns counter phrase.

At the end the first theme with low strings is played again but reharmonized and climbing up in register.
