It's been nearly two years since Rework last appeared on Items & Things with their stunning 'Blackout' EP, but the wait is over as they return bearing their trademark sound and unassailable attitude on their new 'Missed You At L EP. 

Equal parts acid, techno, punk rock, and house, the EP covers a lot of ground in four compelling tracks. Kicking things off is the title track from the EP and it sees the trio stepping back into the sound of their Playhouse days using a never ending vocal loop, lush pad sweeps, and playful stabs laid over energetic, agile drums. Quickly flipping the script, 'Dry Acid' takes a turn into the more 'ghetto' side of techno, relentlessly pushing the groove with an attitude fueled ride of pitched toms and nimble percussion. 'Don't Make Me Cry' is the high octane tune of the EP and clearly has the most sinister demeanor using a quintessential Rework vocal treatment and rapid percussion to take things to the peak. Closing things out is 'French Candy' and the EP comes full circle returning to a sound resembling what Rework is best known for lighthearted and energetic dance floor jams with a deliberate touch of sincerity.

With a string of successful releases already in their discography, Digitaria are no amateurs when it comes to creating memorable and unique dance floor hits. After putting out albums on both Hot Creations and International DJ Gigolos, the duo make their debut on Items & Things with the expertly crafted and undeniably authentic, 'Starburst Poems'.

Jumping off is the title track: A hypnotizing blend of spooky triplets laid over a rugged 'four to the floor' kick drum. As the wobbly lead constantly twists and turns, short sonic blasts of digital artifacts create the perfect contrast between organic euphoria and technological precision.

As with the title track, 'Again and Again' follows suit with a master combination of the natural and synthetic as the duo entwines a rich looping piano with seductive sine tones creating the perfect balance between polar opposites. All the while a haunting female vocal recites the track title resulting in an emotionally enchanting ride.

Wrapping up the EP is 'Over and Over‘, and again the duo create a uniquely magical odyssey by having opposing forces meet head-on. While rigid percussion constructs the foundation, wild arpeggios come to life establishing a strange, yet engaging campaign that fits superbly to any time and place.

After 7 years of chart topping hits covering an array of genres, Pleasurekraft have announced the release of their debut album "Friends, Lovers, & Other Constellations" set for release on 23rd February.

Whether treading into electronica with the album's existential bookends; "Interiors" and "Last Transmission", or flexing big-room techno muscles on "The Day the Earth Stood Still" & "Rigel", there is an indelible fingerprint throughout the 11 tracks that merits continuous listens to reveal its multi-layer depth. Filled with cinematic and cosmological references throughout, what makes "Friends, Lovers, & Other Constellations" truly unique is that it is not merely music for a clubbing experience, but something more, something akin to a musical mission statement; To prove that there is more to dance music than just a 4/4 beat, cliche drug references, and party themed vocals. From Casey Gerald's stirring sermon on "G.O.D. (Gospel of Doubt)", to the searingly cynical "Corpse Reviver Number 1", this debut album is wholly visceral on a musical and thematic level.

While "Friends, Lovers, & Other Constellations" is certainly dressed in full techno regalia, it's pulsing heart yearns toward a greater understanding of the Cosmos, and humanity's place within it.

Senso Sounds collects together a fantastic remix package of Oliver Huntemann’s 'Propaganda' album. The longplayer dropped last year to much fanfare, richly deserving the praise for one of the longest serving techno dons in the European
scene.

First up is Brazilian DJ and producer Alex Stein. His take on 'Taktik' is a suitably muscular approach, building the track around a thick, urgent pulse and proving ample space for tension-building slices of metallic FX.

Argentinian Shall Ocin flips 'Egoist', bringing about very different results - a euphoric peak time burner with huge amounts of
energy.

Senso mainstay Carlo Ruetz takes on 'Der schwarze Kanal', and digs into an early groove that never lets up, building slowly over the tracks entirety.

Hamburg's own Hatzler brings his special talents to 'Absurd', and delivers a slick, powerful cut that unfolds over almost eight minutes of joy.

Canadian Minimal Techno producer Marc Houle turns his attention to 'Poltergeist', flipping the original into a streamlined slice of robo-techno, sharp as a knife with shards of percussion and killer synth stabs.

'Rotlicht' is presented in its full glory and joined by a tough-as-nails remix by Raxon. The Egyptian DJ and producer, born and raised in the United Arab Emirates, locks deep into the groove and adds his own delicious spin to the track.

'Trick17' is giving an Alternative Remix by Senso regular Distale. The Berlin resident provides a Beatport exclusive mix with more of a driving groove, and brings the arpeggiated synths to the fore.

Pleasurekraft return to Drumcode on remix duties after a 2 year hiatus with all engines on the Cosmic Techno ship firing.  Big-room atmospheric drums and an infectious call and response hook intertwine with Green Velvet's otherworldly vocals to produce a new highly visceral and steroid injected version of the original.  The "Space Date" remix marks the sixth collaboration between the seminal purveyors of the Cosmic Techno sub-genre, Pleasurekraft, and Chicago's iconic dance music pioneer Green Velvet. 

The remix initially came about after Drumcode head Adam Beyer heard Pleasurekraft's "Welcome to the Universe" EP [Kraftek] at the end of 2018.  A huge supporter of the Swedish/American production duo, Adam felt so inspired by the whole EP, especially "Main Sequence" that the opportunity for Pleasurekraft to take their love of all things space related lent itself naturally to the thematic elements in Green Velvet's vocals. 

The track's spine is built around a hypnotic groove that is anchored to a single word from the original's vocals : "ecstasy" and slowly builds to the first climax of the record where the listener finally hears Green Velvet's vocals in full for the first time.  However it isn't until the second break of the track that the power of the remix is finally unsheathed, resetting the groove and building up to a second swell featuring a duo of call and response melodies between the lead hook and a lower end bass that takes the intensity of the track up another notch - ultimately culminating in complete silence that gives way to the remix's original heartbeat and repeating mantra: "ecstasy". 

Taking over a month of studio time to complete, it was road tested for the first time at Pleasurekraft's Fabric London gig, where there was no shortage of inquiries as to the ID of the record.  This soon became a repeating theme after Adam Beyer first included it on DCR446 and played it during both of his Ultra Miami (Resistance) sets, including his closing b2b set with Maceo Plex who loved the track so much he proceeded to get his own copy and play it during his own solo set one week later at Time Warp in Germany.  

Multiple clips of the remix have already gone viral on various social media and blog outlets, with no shortage of fans waiting anxiously for the June 24 release date on Adam Beyer's own Drumcode Records. In Adam Beyer's own words, Pleasurekraft are "setting new standards" with their continued foray into the Cosmic Techno sub-genre they continue to define.

Maceo Plex’s taste-making Ellum Audio serves up a sizzling EP from Madben, featureing a remix from men of the moment Brame & Hamo.

Frenchman Madben has a healthy reverence for Jeff Mils and Detroit techno that infuses all his work. He has been mentored by Laurent Garnier and released on a wealth of quality labels from Bedrock to Suara. A resident of the Rex Club in Paris where he puts on his MAAD parties, he is now a regular in the best clubs around Europe where he serves up his always profound sounds, something he does again here.

First up is the fantastic ‘Blooming’, with its old school rave styles and dusty breakbeats. Euphoric chords light up the whole thing and it’s a tune that is sure to get hands in the air.

Brame & Hamo are Irish sensations who are based in Berlin and known for big tunes that range from house to techno to disco. After establishing their own label they step out with a remix that is superbly stripped back. On deep rolling drums, sleek synths unfold and take you on a cosmic adventure that is well paced and cinematic.

Madben’s ‘Enjoy Yourself' is well-crafted techno with a sense of progression in the ever-evolving lead synths. Rumbling drums provide the power below and filtered, whispered vocals are an intriguing detail up top. 

Last of all, ‘Haze’ is a prickly track with snappy mental drums, off kilter synths that twist and turn and a dark energy that is tinged with industrialism.

This is a fresh techno offering that comes with plenty of new ideas that are all expertly executed.

The title track ‘Dunkle Illusion’ initiates the B-side by utilizing an ominous acid line with sinister intent slithers between racing percussion creating an undeniably wicked atmosphere. Wrapping up the short player is Alignment’s remix of ‘Dunkle Illusion’ which sees the original reworked into a powerful display of devilish melodics while never losing the intensity and force of the original’s character. ‘Camargue’ gets a fresh treatment on Drumcode, as a handful of techno’s finest give new life to an R&S classic. 

Coming from the studio of CJ Bolland and Portuguese journeyman The Advent, the track was born out of a golden age of Belgium dance music and first released in 1992. It stands as one of the most treasured pieces of vinyl in Adam Beyer’s collection and this six-part compilation of remixes and remakes marks a highpoint in Drumcode’s history. 

The package consists of a punchy pin-sharp 2019 version of the original, as CJ Bolland and The Advent polish the edges of their time-honoured rave favourite. Maceo Plex makes his return to DC after 2014’s ‘Conjure Dreams’ and his is a bustling industrial take, with distorted vox that gives way to sheaths of stirring melody, before the spine-tingling chords enter the fore and the cut drops into broken beats. Vintage Maceo. Enrico Sangiuliano delivers a trademark cosmic rework underlined by tribal bass stabs and twisted synth lines to accompany the famous riff. It’s an outstanding remake that’s already a big summer favourite for the Drumcode crew. Adam Beyer and Layton Giordani team up with their own groove-injected, future-focused adaption, all the while never losing sight of the misty-eyed spirit of the original. In contrast to the peak-time prowess of the other respective versions, rising Dutch talent Keith Carnal moulds a liquid smooth interpretation heavy on hypnosis and sparse drums. The Advent rounds out the package with his own fresh version, a whip-smart cut that chops and changes between pounding drums, dreamy synth interludes and warbled effects.

It's time for Mirror Records - 2019 marks the year of the record label's birth! It's been in the making for many, many months and we're very proud to finally share the very first EP with you!We are extremely happy to announce Bock & Fuchs as our very first artist on Mirror Records. Of course, it's not a coincidence that this outstanding electronic live act features our premiere. We discovered Bock & Fuchs a year ago, almost exactly at the time when the idea of Mirror Records came up. And we immediately fell in love with his unique take on electronic music. With drifty grooves, crisp live drums and massive synths, Bock & Fuchs played himself into our hearts and we instantly knew he would be the perfect match for us.Monsterfox is the name of the title track and like the prey on it's flight from the name-giving predator, the lead synth shows a small glimpse now and then until it finally breaks free when the drop kicks in and the wild hunt truly starts! Monsterfox was already the perfect track for every situation but then Bock & Fuchs sent us Signal and we were completely blown away. Signal futures an outer-worldly lead synth, a heavy bass line and catchy percussions all over a stomping kick - perfect for those peak-time moments we all seek and love! To top off the EP, the third and final track called Ka Nalu Nui was the perfect complement. Ka Nalu Nui, hawaiian for the great wave, truly lives up to its name: Catchy sound bites play around a dreamy synth and a heavy bass kicks in from time to time, slowly building up, until it finally breaks like the waves on the shore. Rafael Cerato is our first remixer. We were following his work for a long time and it is a big honor to have him on board for this first release. He took on Monsterfox, making it a little more straight forward and heavier. Granting it a technoid touch that suits both, the track and the label, very well. On the other hand, Suspensus rebuild Signal to an even harder track. The rising talent added a raw and driving touch to the track, while speeding it up and therefore adding the last missing pieces to complete our first release.

Paul Ritch’s productions and performances, characterised by his powerful and harmonic techno with a touch of pure emotive soul, represent his true signature sound – the one that has projected him to global recognition.

In 2007, Paul Ritch took the techno scene by storm both on stage and as a producer. Ever since, Paul has been defined by his passionate musical rhetoric, projected in releases for labels like Drumcode, SCI+TEC, Saved, Cocoon Recordings, Soma Records and Bpitch Control, among many others, and remixes to classic tracks such as Ondu, Positive Education,Tropical Melons, Remainings III, Magic K, The Test and I’m Burning Inside. References that have led him to be included among Resident Advisor’s all-time Top 100 charted artists.

In 2008, Paul brought to life his own imprint, Quartz Rec, conceived as a platform of artistic expression for showcasing cutting-edge techno sounds and a broad vision of electronic music. With its first release, “Split EP Part 1” (Paul Ritch, 2008), the label held a top 2 position on Beatport ́s Techno chart. And following hot on the heels of its fifth birthday, Quartz Rec has already published original tracks and remixes from Okain, Paco Osuna, Nic Fanciulli, Thomas Muller, Barem, Carlo Lio, Dubfire, 2000 and One, Onno, Cuartero and Anton Pieete.
