One of our heavyweights and veteran Paul Synth edits again with us, with two other great artists, Dr. Alfred and Henrike, producers and friends of the label, with this powerful EP called Xandra.

Paul Synth, Dr. Alfred and Henrike are experts in combining the groove of the old school house with analog synths. Mysterious and deep harmonies musically merge with a remarkable rhythm and bass line that create the furrow of the track. Aportó sus  contribuciones en el sello Spektra y colaboraciones con artistas conocidos actualmente como Kout. Exploró diversos géneros, desde progressive house hasta hip hop y techhouse, desde 2012. Afrontó un receso por motivos de salud entre 2017 hasta 2020, retomando la producción durante la pandemia y enfocándose nuevamente en breaks bajo Spektra, Electrobreakz y a través de Bandcamp. Participa activamente en mezcla, masterización para otros proyectos. Siempre abierto a nuevas conexiones y colaboraciones.

Born in Cádiz (Spain), musician, DJ, and computer engineer, he began his journey into music production in 1993. From early experiments with trackers to mastering the most sophisticated DAWs of today, his evolution reflects a deep passion for sound and technology.

Immersed in the language of elegant Old and Nu Skool Breaks, he began performing at major events in his province by 1999. After completing his degree in computer engineering in 2004, he developed his own synthesis system using programming languages and mathematical principles.

Relocating to Seville for work and life, he matured musically and began shaping a personal, house-rooted style—playful, fluid, and distinct. In 2005, he joined Amoeba Label and Desertica Records, performing in numerous clubs around Seville and beyond.

His tracks have been released on Cray1 Labworks, Amoeba Label, Desertica Records, InOut Records, and many others. Whether crafting warm-up sessions or delivering high-energy sets, he thrives on groovy, dynamic structures that captivate the dancefloor.

Among his ongoing projects, he is especially focused on a new collaboration with his longtime musical partner TFunk—now known as Reference Sound.

Comenzó su pasión por la música a corta edad, a los 13 años ya intentaba realizar sus primeras mezclas, dejándose llevar por ritmos rotos.

Fue en 2011 cuando dio un pequeño salto actuando en Pubs y Discotecas de varios puntos de Andalucía, ampliando poco a poco este abanico hasta salir varias veces la península para actuar en la isla de Tenerife.

Siempre estuvo interesado en crear su propia música y fue en marzo de 2013 cuando decidió ponerse manos a la obra y empezó a trastear con varios programas de producción, siendo Logic su herramienta definitiva con la que compuso su primera canción tras unos meses de trabajo.

Este artista ya tiene una larga lista de pistas a la venta y varios también editados en formato físico por diferentes sellos discográficos, entre ellos varios que llegaron al top del Top Breaks mundial e incluso han tenido muy buenas críticas en la prestigiosa revista musical Dj Mag & Mixmag. Un estilo un tanto peculiar el que define a este artista fusionando el estilo de la vieja escuela y Uk Garage.

En 2017 recibió el premio «Best Up & Coming Artist International» en los premios «Miami Bass Awards» y en 2018 volvió a ser nominado a mejor remix con «GN – Hopes (Adam Vyt Remix)

A lo largo de su carrera, ha tenido el placer de participar en varios de los mejores festivales de Andalucía y ha compartido cartel con grandes DJs y productores de la escena mundialmente reconocida.

En mayo de 2020 une fuerzas con el productor onubense “Sekret Chadow” y abren el sello discográfico 13Monkeys Records.

Marcos Cruz’s career has developed in parallel with the history of underground electronic music in Spain. Indeed, he has been of its most influential creators over the last ten years. He is part of the foundational core of House music in the Southern region of Andalusia since his early attempts with turntables and mixing consoles, back in 1993.

During his early sessions as a DJ at clubs in his hometown Seville, he was quite influenced by the old school of House, playing Deep House, Acid House, underground rhythms and Detroit Techno. Throughout his extensive career as a DJ and producer he has attained to combine the best sounds of underground House, Tech and Deep House, being quite influenced by European and American schools, and with an utterly magnetic style in cabin that radiates energy.

Marcos Cruz remembers the first time he listened to Danny Tenaglia as a milestone in his musical development, at Space Ibiza terrace circa 1998. Along the years, his peculiar sound has drawn the attention of big artists such as Deep Dish, Dubfire, Behrouz, Steve Lawler, Marco Carola, Hernán Cattaneo, Luciano, Radio Slave, Michel Cleis, Tiësto, Víctor Calderone, Chus & Ceballos... 

His career took a crucial turn in 2004, with his first worldwide hit: “I love you” (SerialKiller Vinyl). Deep Dish opened their performances with this track, including on Creamfields that year. Shortly afte,r “Love Rotation” was preselected in 2004 for Dubfire's Global Underground 031: Taipei compilation. Ever since, he hasn’t stopped working as DJ, producer and mixer of the greatest international artists.

In 2007 he started his own label, Desertica Records, which has grown to become an icon of the Tech and Deep House sounds made in Spain. At the same time, his career experienced a dazzling global explosion, with tours that have led him to numerous places, from the Winter Music Conference in Miami (WMC)  to Eastern Europe, Asia or North Africa. He has kept up that international prestige ever since.

Nowadays, Marcos Cruz is in a exuberant state of maturity, both in personal and musical sides. He still owns an amazing bond with the crowd and his sessions are full of harmony, joy and connection with the audience. His style in booth reflects his strong faith and spiritual commitment. He conceives music as an instrument to inquire into our own identity and convey love.
