Westside Angel is the Garage House project from the artist previously behind Nu Disco projects Westlake72 and Junior Park Allstars. His tracks have been picked up by labels such as El Born Records, Plastik People, Rhythm Vibe, Smashing Trax, Delve Deeper, Bubble'n'Twist, Bob's Your Uncle, Strictly Flava, MiKan Digital, Cor Blimey Records, and Soulful Evolution. Dan has done official remixes for artists such as Marc Cotterall and Rick Wade and has been remixed by Sebb Junior and Tonbe. 

Growing up in a house filled with the sounds of the Beach Boys and Jamaican Reggae music was always going to be Westlake's calling. Having spent 20 years plus DJing in London and NYC, spinning an eclectic mix of funk, disco, boogie and house alongside his work as a graphic designer in the music industry and a visual artist, after studying at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York and Central Saint Martin's in London. There followed a journey to Mars and beyond to research underground music from the further reaches of the Galaxy. On his return to planet Earth, he put into practice the esoteric lessons learnt from this odyssey to make bespoke House and Disco tracks.

Westside Angel is the new Garage project, drawing influence from both sides of the Atlantic. It features heavily swung and bumping drums, warm bass, dubbed-out horns, and soulful vocals above jazz-infused chords. From New Jersey shores to the banks of the Thames, these tracks bring the underground vibes evoking dancing to booming sound systems in sweaty basements on warm summer nights.

The project has been remixed by the likes of Gold Suite, Coyote, Sibson, Vanity Project, Vendetta Suite, James Bright, Steve Carr, Paul 'Mudd' Murphy.

I used to write a weekly music column 'Deep Impressions' which doubled as an event brand that hosted luminaries such as Efdemin, Vladislav Delay and DFA's Shit Robot in their first appearances in Sydney. 

As a DJ I spun before the likes of Agoria, Apparat, Luomo and Acid Pauli, while my outfit Diatribe were the only locals to perform alongside Moodymann, Theo Parrish and Carl Craig at Sydney’s D-25 Detroit anniversary party. I also shared the bill with Richie Hawtin, Slam, Phonique, Konrad Black, Sven Vath, SCSI-9, Cesare vs Disorder, Matias Aguayo, Klartraum, Stephan Bodzin, Alexkid and Tigerskin, and played at festivals such as Subsonic, Earthdance and Playground Weekender.
