The piece was premiered on a very day of 135. Birth Anniversary of Karol Szymanowski — the 3rd of October 2017 in the villa "Atma" — composer's residence in the heart of Polish Tatra Mountains. There, in 1935 (or shortly before) Szymanowski was recorded playing his own Mazurka (op. 50 no. 13).

The recording, interesting in regard to the modern temperation — suspended between d flat and c (Mazurka itself modulates from the D flat major to the C major then), became a vinyl canvas for my miniature. Covered by the thick layer of noise, reinstated to the context of the place, animated throughout the touch of the instrument — it had been given an another chance to interfuse into the reality –

– just to let it finally remain a vinyl recording.

Pożegnanie Ojczyzny. Dwóch artystów, jedna muzyka. Pierwszy z nich to Michał Kleofas Ogiński. Komponował polonezy fortepianowe, romanse, pieśni, kadryle, menueta, walce. Dziś, najbardziej znany jako autor poloneza a-moll "Pożegnanie Ojczyzny". Drugi, to Władysław Komendarek. O swojej muzyce opowie prapraprawnuk Ogińskiego - Władysław Gudonis Komendarek.

Wysłuchali Państwo audiobooka „Pożegnanie Ojczyzny”, przygotowanego według pomysłu i w reżyserii Marcina Nowaka. Współpraca redakcyjna – Dawid Brykalski. O życiu, sławnym przodku i muzyce opowiedział Władysław Komendarek. Projekt zrealizowano w ramach programu stypendialnego Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego – Kultura w sieci.
