An acid-driven anthem built for big moments, 'No Turning Back' is a no-nonsense production harnessing tough metallic drums, snarling low-ends and a wicked core bassline full of vigour.

Premiere: Latmun - Dance And Bop [Wow! Recordings]

Solid Grooves Records co-founder PAWSA readies his second full release on the label with a remix from Denmark’s Anek.

2016 has been pivotal for Solid Grooves as not only has the event series concluded a highly successful debut season in Ibiza but the imprint has quickly cemented itself as an essential platform for house and techno, fast becoming a favourite for names like Adam Beyer, Huxley, James Zabiela, Nicole Moudaber and Groove Armada whilst dominating the upper end of Beatport’s charts. Alongside Michael Bibi, PAWSA is at the helm of Solid Grooves - a producer known for appearances on Gruuv, MOOD, Relief Records, Do Not Sleep and Lost Records.

From the off ‘Twiple Fwet’ demonstrates PAWSA’s inimitable percussive style before introducing a rumbling bassline and looped vocal sample that’s destined to keep crowds moving. ‘Angel Dust’ then meanders forward using crunchy drums as sporadic beeps and echoing effects add to the heightening tension. Concluding the package, Anek’s remix of ‘Twiple Fwet’ incorporates syncopated percussion, menacing throbs and spacelike effects.

Solid Grooves has built a strong following of loyal fans over the years. Starting out as an event series, the London based brand has since achieved global success including a prevalent Ibiza residency last year. Launching as a label in 2015, it wasn’t long before Solid Grooves Records topped Beatport’s overall charts with Wade’s remix of Dennis Cruz ‘See Line’ and cemented its reputation as an infallible imprint, releasing music from names such as Kuo Climax, ONNO, David Pher and Brett Gould.

Dennis Cruz leads the way with ‘Fake’, a vocal focused track with throbbing bass, chopped up samples and infectious percussive components before Franz Costa’s ‘Kate’ blends a medley of intricate rhythmic elements for a trippy low-slung production.

The label co-founders are up next, with Michael Bibi unleashing a roaring low-end in ‘Devil’s Candy’ whilst a spoken word sample operates through, making way for PAWSA’s ‘Taking Over’ – an atmospheric house track geared for powerful subs featuring dub inspired stabs and sharp hats. Reelow then concludes the package, demonstrating his signature style with a cacophony of percussion and mesmerizing effects.

The EP opens up with the track naming it, ͚Alfagarth (Original Mix)͛, a song with a strong and loose percussion, with wooden touches, a reassuring hip-hopish female vocal and a great set of atmospheric FX, making this a perfect track for any moment on the floor. Then we have ͚Alfagarth (Eli Brown Remix)͛, in which Eli Brown turns the original into a tighter affair, maintaining the steadiness of the vocal line, adding some proper FX trickery and looping treatment for some added dancefloor madness.
