UK DJ/producer Latmun will add another string to his bow this February as he launches his first label project, Lateral, marking and celebrating his eighth year as an artist. A firm fixture of the global circuit with appearances at venues including DC10, Amnesia, Printworks, Club Space, Hï and Warehouse Project, his sets for the likes of Music On, Paradise and ANTS have seen his profile surge since breaking through. And yet, his stock only looks set to rise further across 2023.

Having released music via a long list of renowned labels across his career, including Hot Creations, Solid Grooves, Relief, Sola, Repopulate Mars, Mindshake and elrow music, the launch unveils a project which has been a long-time in the works - kicking things off in style with his new single, 'Just Play', with further material scheduled throughout the year ahead...

'The first release on Lateral has been a long time coming, but finding the right track has been challenging as I wanted it to reflect correctly what the label is about. 'Just Play' is meant to be exactly that, a combination of different styles resulting in something unique, which hopefully makes you want to 'just play it'. - Latmun.

Opening via a snaking bassline and crisp drum shots before building into a driving anthem armed with skittering, warped vocal samples, 'Just Play' is an impactful and mischievous cut shaped for the peak time, revealing an impressive first glimpse into the future direction of the label.

Paul C returns to Hot Creations as he serves up his first solo material for the label with his bumping three-track ‘Let The Bass Kik’ EP.

A mainstay within the Italian house landscape for over two decades, DJ/producer and label owner Paul C has delivered quality house records via a wealth of top-tier imprints while featuring at key clubs across Europe and beyond. Having made his debut on the label back in 2013 with his bustling collaboration ‘Get This!’, with 2015’s
follow-up ‘Pinball’ also proving to be a favourite for many, he now returns on Hot Creations as he delivers three impressive tracks across his ‘Let The Bass Kik’ EP.

“This EP means a lot to me. I wanted to convey the mood of the 1990s music that accompanied me when I used to go dancing in clubs across Italy from North to South but with a contemporary twist.

Feeling is essential to me; it determines whether an idea is okay or not. For ‘Let The Bass Kik’, it happened in an instant. The energy came to me immediately; it was almost as if everything was building
itself. On days like these, all you have to do is complete your projects and lock yourself away in the studio.” - Paul C.

Opening the package is title track ‘Let The Bass Kik’, a vibrant, energy-charged effort loaded with slinking basslines, hooky samples and sweeping synths to provide a peak time cut made for bustling dancefloors. Next, ‘Can U Dance’ keeps things moving as sweeping electronics and soaring leads are guided by slick metallic drums, before ‘Red Green Yellow’ closes the show as sharp percussion arrangements meet echoed vocals and rich
melodies.

At just 22 years old, Brazilian DJ/producer nocapz. has already built an impressive catalogue of releases on labels like Nervous Records, SOLOTOKO, and Organic Pieces. This year, a standout moment in his career came with the release of ‘Coming For Ya’ on Gruuv—a summer anthem that was heavily supported by industry heavyweights ANOTR and quickly became a dancefloor hit. Now, as the year winds down, he takes the next step in his journey with his label debut on Jamie Jones' Hot Creations, delivering the bass-fuelled four-track ‘More Love’ EP, which also features a collaboration with fellow Brazilian artist Marian (BR). “After a year with more than 10 releases, ‘More Love’ EP certainly is one of the works I'm most proud of.
The first three tracks of this EP were produced in one week, and every Jamie Jones support during his Paradise residency in Ibiza meant a lot to me. It felt like I was daydreaming. This four-track release represents nocapz. in its purest form as it brings to life all my influences of club culture through energetic basslines and classic rave synths. Kicking off with thick, pounding beats, ‘More Love’ features chopped vocals with a nostalgic vibe that seamlessly blend into a deep, bass-heavy groove. Keeping the momentum, ‘Getting Heard’ drives forward with quick, bouncy beats and heavy synths that build a wave of intensity to the dancefloor. ‘One Shot’ packs a punch with thumping kicks, keeping the EP's energy fierce and pushing the track to its peak intensity. **THE TECH MAGIC:**
The game-changer here is the Ableton Push 3 Standalone - this beast lets us strip down elements from the master track in real-time so each musician can truly shine. When Blaire's bass comes alive, we pull the pre-recorded bassline. When Kyle jumps in on keytar, we clear the mid-range. It's all about creating space for authentic jamming without sonic chaos.

One of the most unique elements is our midi guitar setup - QNTM.e's guitar is equipped with 13-pin midi pickups by IGuitars in New York City, which means every guitar part gets routed through Ableton's native plugins and synthesizers in real-time. We're literally playing guitar through synthesizers and effects that would normally be keyboard-only! Hit us up if you're interested in learning more about this setup!

We also used ADAT routing to separate every instrument type (synths, drums, bass, guitars) into individual channels through our audio interface. This means our final mix sounds as clean as a traditional live band - a breakthrough that wasn't possible until the Push 3's ADAT support!

Inspired by anime aesthetics and featuring both brand new originals and reimagined classics, this set represents the future of live electronic music.

Across the ‘Street Rave EP’ McVicar marries Chicago inflected raw house sounds with an unmistakable UK rave slant throughout. From the buoyant combination of undulating bass and a rich palette of synths, stabs and vocal drops, the title track is just under six minutes of earworming hooks. ‘Dorian’ is a tougher, more clipped affair with a stomping, acid-inflected groove doing the work while closing track sees McVicar team up with fellow Scot Roose for a no-holds-barred workout which fuse 4:4 UK hardcore to a rock-solid house beat.

Let’s rewind to 1995, to Dan’s teenage years and when his friend Jack first introduced him to the original Moi Renee - Miss Honey. Ball Culture has always been a massive interest of Dan’s and one of the very first videos he ever saw when YouTube was in its infancy was the original, iconic Miss Honey. In turn, it became something iconic for his group of friends at the time and is completely nostalgic when talking about it now.

Dan loved the vocals, so when his gig at Little Gay Brother in London was approaching, he decided to get in the studio and make his own edit for the dancefloor in April 2018. “I sampled the drum loop from an old Armand Van Helden remix, added some bass and a little bit of a riff, and when I put the acapella over the top - it worked a treat” – says Dan’.

“It booted off!!” – that was the feedback from the show in London and at a later show at Sound in Los Angeles. “After that, I thought I might be onto something, as the crowd was going mental. So, I went back to the studio and made it sound bigger with some rave stabs and sent it out to a few people” adds Dan. The end result? An explosive slice of house with a rambunctious groove!

Fans are asking Dan every day about the release date, after Patrick Topping, Fatboy Slim and Annie Mac all dropped the track, and have been giving it the love it deserves ever since. Now we can finally announce, it’s going to be a special day on the 12th June, when ‘Honey’ will finally be available for purchase!

A pumping club weapon, the  title track opens proceedings, pairing Patois MC samples with raw, Chicago-influenced house. On the flip side, ‘Easy For Us’ maintains the intensity of ‘Rocket Fuel’, placing an infectious, seemingly never ending four-to-the-floor beat and catchy robotic vocals at its heart. It marks Topping’s first release since his vocal edit of ‘The 302’ by DJ Deeon and Gettoblaster, which was released as part of TRICK 006.

Brazil meets Newcastle for Mura’s debut on Patrick Topping’s Trick with the vocal smash ‘Check It’, featuring remixes from Ewan McVicar and Elliot Adamson. Continuing to discover fresh talent, Patrick Topping recruits Brazilian DJ/producer Mura for an irresistibly energetic first release laced with catchy rapped vocals sitting atop a bouncy, synth-laden production, inviting label family members Ewan McVicar and Elliot Adamson on board for a pair of high octane remixes. 

Following his ‘Street Rave EP’ on Trick in 2020, DJ Mag ‘Best Breakthrough Act’ nominee Ewan McVicar provides a high energy ‘Organ Mix’ of Mura’s original, keeping ‘88 alive with blasting stabs and chorded organs to transform ‘Check It’ into a no-holds-barred rave anthem. 

Elliot Adamson returns to Trick after yet another year of superb output in 2020 and turns in two remixes of ‘Check It’. The laser-ridden ‘Leazes’ remix and the aptly titled ‘Turbo’ remix both see the Newcastle-born producer taking no prisoners, adding a welcome dose of frenzied excitement to yet another standout release from Trick.
