Today, we are releasing @juliemuzik's awe-inspiring closing set in the Bovenkamer at the Lupercalia edition of PAX-ROMANA back in February. 

Making her second appearance at PAX-ROMANA, Julie showcased her signature sound characterized by deep, hypotonic, percussion-driven techno, maintaining a BPM range of 130-137. Ho ho ho, the mystery-shrouded Rrose - named after Marcel Duchamp’s eponymous persona, punches in right on cue for Xmas with an absolute monster of a two-hour jaunt into their exquisitely twisted headspace. Having served up some of the finest techno slabs of the past decade through the likes of Sandwell District, Stroboscopic Artefacts and now their own dedicated imprint, Eaux, Rrose steps in the series with a bonkers mix of dusty techno hustle-and-bustle, neatly alternating sequences of pumping 4x4 aerobatics, searing, noise-adjacent outbursts and eerie melodies to hypnotic effect. A constant balancing act of raw power and haunting score, Rrose’s RYC mix takes us on a deep and fascinating trip into genre-unbound territories, where only abandon and wildness reign supreme. Bastian Balders is a techno producer, label owner, and DJ based in Leipzig, Germany. He has been involved in the electronic music scene since the 90s as a fan and listener. In 2014, he began creating his own music and he started working with the Berlin-based techno label Konsequent Records. In 2019, he founded his own record label “Balders Audio”, releasing music with artists such as Alex Bau and Alexander Kowalski. In January 2020, he made his debut at Tresor Berlin. This was followed by gigs in China, India, USA, and Cyprus. His style is marked by catchy, loopy techno with raw, hypnotic elements.

Takaaki는 빠르게 이 새로운 사운드에 중독되기 시작하였으며, 1994년부터는 그의 고향인 북일본 지역에서 스스로 테크노 파티를 만들며 빠르게 자신의 이름을 알려나가기 시작했다. 1996년, 자신만의 사운드를 트랙으로 만들기로 결심하면서 발표한 Takaaki Itoh의 순수한 언더그라운드 테크노 음악은, 이전까지 유럽에서 들어보지 못했던 새로운 스타일의 일본 언더그라운드 테크노로 각인되기 시작하였고, 그는 곧 일본 전역과 유럽에서 큰 사랑을 받기 시작하며 가장 존경받는 일본 언더그라운드 디제이로 인식되기 시작했다. 2001년, 유럽으로 활동무대를 옮긴 Takaaki는 Berghain, Tresor와 같은 대형 테크노 클럽들과 Awakenings페스티벌 같은 무대에서 플레이하며 전 세계 프로모터들과 파티피플들의 큰 사랑을 받기 시작했다. 이후 자신의 레이블 Wols를 시작하며 한 단계 더 앞으로 나아간 Takaaki Itoh는, 현재 새로운 테크노 세대의 선두주자로서 일본과 유럽을 오가며 활발한 활동들을 보이고 있다.

Techno hit Japan hard in the early 1990s.Takaaki Itoh was quickly impressed and intrigued with this new sound. The unique style of beats revealed the gateway to a new world of underground music in Japan - something he had never heard before. 
in 1994,Takaaki began to organize his own techno parties in his home of northern Japan. By providing a fantastic lineup, his parties quickly became a success.
In 1996, having decided that it was time to start making his own tracks, His Japanese style of techno was pure, unique and underground - nothing that had been heard before in Europe. His reputation and popularity quickly spread all over the continent. He was becoming recognized as Japan's most underground and respected techno DJ. As of 2001 he was getting offers to perform at large clubs and festivals all over Europe, like awakenings,berghain,tresor. Promoters wanting him, party people loving him, Takaaki Itoh took the next step and started his own label Wols. Passion led to success and he became recognized as the top of the next generation of techno music.
