As seen through our windows
Spring is flourishing
The world is brightly shining
Under its clear skies

We wonder if we are going
To enjoy it again

From London to Rio
De Janeiro
Most cities go quiet
Hide behind a mask

The empty streets are a sign
We’re as fragile as glass

Yet the Earth spins
Gracefully going
Round, round, and round the Sun

(While we all hunker down
Realizing what we had before)

The human race is feeling lost
Hoping to get another chance
To simply go to another dance

Or freely go walking
With friends to the park

And wouldn’t that 
Just be fine?

The future awaits us
After our penance
The world is no longer ours
We are just its tenants

The year of perfect vision
Has brought a new mission
