El Caveman hails from Chicago….. the house capital of the world. This veteran has been part of the Chicago club scene for years moving the crowd time and time again. 

His roots stem from early radio in the 80’s in Chicago. As a boy growing up in Little Village, Chicago, he would stare at his beat-up radio on Friday nights and listen to the historic radio station, WBMX 102.7 FM, where his love for house music grew. He was influenced by such greats as “Ralfie Rosario, Kenny Jamming Jason, Farley Jackmaster Funk, etc”. DJ Caveman started his dj career at the age of 15. He quickly learned the trade and would practice constantly. At only 17 years of age, DJ Caveman started spinning at 90.5 FM WCYC in Chicago as early as 1993 where he carved out a name for himself and became a prominent resident dj for the memorable "Friday Night Dance Party." He quickly became a crowd favorite in the South/West side of Chicago. DJ Caveman was also an air-personality and co-hosted several shows including the “Friday Night Hot Mix Show”. He diligently spun for WCYC for over five years dominating the air waves. Quote: “I loved the fact that I played on the airwaves and felt that radio was my avenue to channel the music that was in my head dying to come out! I never took it for granted.”
This DJ is also the winner of the 1993 Battle of the H.S. Dj's at club Alcatrazz. He was a very versatile dj for his age in that he spun from classic house/old school to hard hitting techno/minimal to other genres. During the middle nineties, DJ Caveman began spinning at some early big events with many prominent producers/djs such as "Paul Johnson, Gene Hunt, Jesse De La Pena, Robert Armani, Lego, DJ Hyperactive, Stacey Kidd, CZR, Angel Alanis,Woody McBride, Nigel Richards, DJ Funk, Dieselboy, DJ Jess, Danny The Wildchild, DJ 3D, Mark Almaria, Bad Boy Bill, and Lester Fitzpatrick of Cajual/Relief Records, etc. (to name a few).
During the late nineties, this dj continued to play at various loft parties, warehouse parties, prolific clubs, and various big venues around Chicago. He became a local icon. Moving the masses and always kept the crowd on their feet wanting some more. In 1998, DJ Caveman was a resident WCRX 88.1 FM “Chicago’s Underground” located in the heart of downtown Chicago where he showcased this style and skill. There, he was a resident for about 4 years and had a total of 9 years in radio under his belt. In 1996, DJ Caveman began experimenting with producing beats and his own music. He co-produced some tracks on a few labels such as Minimalistix Records in Belgium, Mama Dance/Universal Records, etc. He continues to produce in the studio and is working on upcoming projects. DJ Caveman also appeared in a cable show on CANTV spinning live in front thousands of viewers, along with a brief skit with Cajmere/Green Velvet. More and more people began to know of him. In 2008, DJ Caveman spun at the History of House Music Concert at the historic Congress Theatre grossing over 4,000 people along with legends such as Crystal Waters,Robin S, Farley JAckmaster Funk, Lego, Stacy Kidd, etc.
In Sept. 2010, DJ Caveman spun in front of the masses at the World Famous "Millenium Park" for Viva Chicago LAtin Music Fest. He played sultry latin house and the crowd danced the night away that historic night. "Summerdance" revisited for that night at Millenium Park. 

DJ Caveman continues to play at various clubs/venues and keeps moving the crowd. What he plays can be described in two words: "HOUSE MUSIC". Nothing but the deep, nothing but the soul. He has amassed quite a following throughout the years. Quote: “I love spinning in front a crowd and moving them!!!That is the ultimate for me. I don’t think I can ever get tired of it. It’s an indescribable feeling. I will play till I grow grey!”

Born in the city of Chi-town this young aspiring DJ found a home in the party scene at a young age. Starting off with a group of fellow DJs called “Live It Up” a group lead by Ricky Rockin’ Aldana, our DJ found his passion for music through the art of “getting your beats tight”. In those early days he was known as Joe "Pump It Up" the DJ who was always “melting the wheels of steel” at house parties in his community as well as high school parties. “In those days it felt like everyone else in the neighborhood was either on drugs or gang banging this was our outlet our way of expressing ourselves,” he explains. 

However, our DJ did not solely use mixing to express himself during that time. In fact, he started expressing his passion for music by manipulating his bones and defying gravity as a break dancer. "Breaking is what got me into the music scene it was another way to express my passion for music" he explains. Passion for music a hallmark of our DJ's legacy continued to play a role in his personal evolution through the industry.

After a period of time he started spinning at venues such as the Aragon, Navy Pier, and the Odium Ballroom; and received a new DJ name that would forever transform his career as a DJ and Producer. Given to him by Joey “The Don” for his persistent ways when it came to collecting and getting paid back for his work DJ Payback began a new journey through the world of music by starting a new crew called Masterpiece Productions in the mid 90s. With the support of Luis Wicked, Notorious Eddie G and others Masterpiece Productions released their work to the world one tape at a time.

As DJ Payback recalls the name of his first mix tape “Keep It Underground” was conceived on a trip he went on to NYC with Maurice Joshua, Georgie Porgie, and Terry Hunter, when in a shop looking for a new hat to rock he looked up and saw a cap that had “Keep It Underground” stitched onto it and underground it was kept. Payback began to further his career by working at a few record stores such as Jumpin Music, Just Dance, and running The Factory, but it his passion for "getting the beats tight" that really elevated his career. 

Some would say the rest is history because he then began getting air time on B96’s Street Flavor Show with the help of DJ Speed which allowed him to get his mixes out to thousands of people at a time, while he also began helping fellow DJs poduce their music and mix tapes. Yet, for DJ Payback it is all about the future. 

After taking a brief hiatus from the art of performing DJ Payback has emerged from the Underground, “I am tired of being a basement DJ I need to be where I belong, where people come to hear music that will give them every opportunity to dance the night away “ DJ Payback states. But when asked why else he made his return he looks to the industry itself. “ I’ve Been to a couple of clubs lately and the sound systems are great, the atmospheres are great, but its still lacking something... well put together beats. Clubs need to start recognizing the most important part to your night club is your music. An unopened bottle of Grey Goose cant get any better than the next unopened bottle of Grey Goose.” DJ Payback explains. 

One might ask what specific projects will DJ Payback be working on now that he is back on the scene. "There are a few projects that are marinating right now. One of them is producing House Tracks and another is bringing back that feeling House Party's used to give you. The feeling that all the worries of the week are over once Friday night makes an appearance." 

When asked how he would accomplish such a task he responded.

"That is what House Party Productions is all about. It's about the Music and the way it creates good vibes, positive energy, the kind of feeling that lets you forget everything unti monday rolls back around"

House Party Productions is one of many projects DJ Payback is currently working on with his partners Notorious Eddie G and PayDro, but the most important vision Payback has for his future is to share his talents with lovers of music, no matter where they may be. 

"I spin House Music all night long, but no matter what I enjoy seeing the people on the dance floor enjoying their own nights. That's what being a DJ is all about. Keeping your beats tight and keeping the dance floor moving."

Will DJ Payback deliver on his promise of bringing back the notion of "Thank God it's Friday" and the positive energy that feeling brings to a club or party? Only time will tell. However, one can be certain that DJ Payback is dedicated to his promises. He knows what he wants and has the talent to reach his goals, which can only be good news for House Music lovers throughout the world. An artist has returned to his craft. House Music rejoice.

Jorge Branco aka Dj White, iniciou a sua carreira como Dj profissional/residente no inicio da década de 80 embora, ainda em finais dos anos 70, tenha animado inumeras festas de garagem , em plena era "Disco-Sound", pré-New Wave. As "velhinhas" cassetes e o vinil (mais os albúns e os singles que os maxis, estes, ainda pouco comercializados em Portugal) dominavam as cabines dos Djs. Os pratos com pitch eram "mentira", embora lá por fora aparecessem os primeiros modelos do lendário Technics 1200. Por estas alturas, o CD ainda fazia parte da ficção cientifica. 
   *As noites torrejanas de então (77, 78 e 1979), eram lideradas pela discoteca Bobs, casa pequena (cabia integralmente na pista de dança da actual Emotion) mas com muita "alma" e onde decorreram alguns dos melhores concursos de dança da região.  Dj Mafra e Jorge Miguel, eram os Djs de serviço, apresentando ao público torrejano algumas reliquias importadas através de "mão amiga" por Alfredo Serra (o gerente). Foi aqui, bem como no Dom Papagaio de Mira d´Aire (outra casa marcante para toda uma geração), que Dj White tomou conhecimento com as sonridades Disco e Funky que chegavam tanto de Inglaterra como dos USA. Village People, Kool & the Gang, Earth Wind & Fire e Michael Jackson (quando ainda era negro), escutados e dançados em primeira mão. Foi também neste espaço que Jorge Branco deu os seus primeiros passos como Dj (de discoteca), com uma mesa de mistura e dois "pratos" na cabine, mesmo sem o tal pitch.  
  Depois de uma passagem pela já extinta Galáxia (no Entroncamento e verdadeiramente a primeira "coisa" parecida com uma discoteca a sério na região), inaugura a 10 de Junho de 1983, a Discoteca Fame Club em Torres Novas, onde permanece como residente até ao inicio dos Anos 90. Apesar do seu tamanho (era de facto de pequena dimensão, embora não muito mais que outras existentes actualmente na região) tinha uma cabine de luxo para aqueles tempos, apresentando os primeiros Technics SL-1210 Mk2 no distrito de Santarém. Finalmente era possível começar a "misturar" a sério, algo até então impensável.
  Pelo meio (em 1984/85) é também Dj convidado na extinta Pim Pim em Tomar, outra das discotecas marcantes da década de 80 no distrito de Santarém. No inicio dos Anos 90 e após a sua saida da Fame Club, Dj White é convidado para residente no Lagar, na Golegã, onde permanece pouco mais de 1 Ano. Em 1993, inicia uma nova etapa na sua carreira, na lendária Swing no Entroncamento, onde permanece como residente até à data de encerramento desta casa.    Nesta enorme casa (enorme não só pela sua dimensão como também na influência na noite ribatejana), partilhou a cabine com Djs Nacionais de referência, como Dj Vibe, X-Man aka Mário Roque, Dj Jiggy, Luis e Paulo Leite, The Fox, Miguel Simões e muitos outros. 
   Segue-se no mesmo espaço e a abrir o Ano 2000, a KO, casa que pouco mais de 6 meses após a sua abertura sofre um duro revés, com um incidente infeliz, de todos conhecido. Este incidente, acaba por afectar definitivamente o seu futuro, apesar de todo o empenho da sua equipa profissional. 
De saída da  KO, Dj White regressa a Torres Novas, ingressando na Destilaria, onde permanece cerca de 1 Ano. Após esse periodo, em 2001/2002, é também residente em Lisboa, no Cool Café, na antiga Expo. 
  A 27 de Dezembro de 2002, inaugura em Torres Novas, a Discoteca Emotion, onde permanece até à data. 
Ao longo da sua residência na maior discoteca de Torres Novas, tem o prazer de trabalhar com alguns músicos, cantores e Djs de topo mundial como Robin S, Kim Cooper, Jaba, Gary Nesta Pine, Juan Magan, Bodytalk, Hallux, Sebastian Gamboa, Massivedrum, Maddox, Oskar Dj, Tommy Guitar, La Mouche, Nelson Freitas e muitos outros.
   Desde as noites Remember. . . Good Times, com o melhor dos Anos 70, 80 e 90, às noites Latinas, Passagens de Ano e Carnaval, passando pelo House (+ ou - comercial consuante o tipo de público presente), Dj White é um Dj versátil, procurando ir ao encontro dos gostos do grande público, através da experiência e conhecimentos musicais adquiridos ao longo de mais de 4 décadas de carreira.

I have been mixing since the early 80's but put the breaks on it in the mid 90's. Over the past few years a number of old friends, family and music lovers asked if I would consider DJing again. Now almost 20 years later, I am back in the mix for my own leisure. Despite my busy schedule, I am finding time to share my passion for DJing.
