In 1 Cor 10:1– 11:1, Paul warns those loved in Christ to flee idolatry and to do all for the glory of God.
1. Examples from Israel’s past failures (10:1-22)
- Warning: when God’s people defy him, they are destroyed (v1-11)
- Pride comes before the fall! (v12)
- Yet God is faithful and offers a way out of every temptation (v13) 
- So dear friends, flee from idolatry (v14)
- For eating and drinking have spiritual significance (v15-22)

2. Some scenarios the Corinthians faced (10:23–11:1)	
- BBQ at the temple? No. (v23-24)
- Meat from the market for home? Yes. (v25)
- A complex situation: dining with non-Christian and Christian friends (v26-30)

Living for God's glory (Christian ethics):
1. Does the Bible allow it for us today?
2. Does my conscience allow it at this time?
3. What is the impact on my Christian family? (Love > my knowledge)
4. What is the effect on non-Christians? (Gospel > my rights)
5. What is the effect on my spiritual life? (God’s glory > my freedom)

In an anti-climatic way, three faithful women encountered the empty tomb and turned into fearful women. Now the same kind of encounter confronts us as believers of Jesus: what do we do with the undeniable fact that Jesus has resurrected, and the confounding fact that we are surrounded by uncertainties? Keep calm and be faithful.

4.	In what practical ways can we deal with the tension between knowing the resurrected Jesus and being confronted by our own uncertainty, anxiety and insecurity?
