This song showcases the basic sound of the Korg Mono/Poly. There are three instances of the Mono/Poly in this track (bass, pad and lead). The pad sound demonstrates the polyphonic (paraphonic) capabilities of the Mono/Poly, and it sounds quite convincing to me.

About 15 years ago I played Tim Hecker's first tracks in my Sets/Radio-Shows, back then about two years after the release of the album "Haunt Me, Haunt Me Do It Again". No matter in which direction my musical taste changed, especially "Radio Amor" (Mille Plateaux) was present at all times. Meanwhile I own almost every (vinyl/CD) release of him, so a "tribute mix" had been planned for years. Then, with the Re-Release of his first album, (at that time only as CD on Substractif (2001) - now as LP on kranky) it should happen. Music from almost 15 years Tim Hecker, packed in my DJ set for 2,5 hours.
I hope it's as much a pleasure to you as it is to me.

「70年代クラウトロックの現代的解釈」と称され、エメラルズをUSアンダーグランドシーンから一気に飛躍させた2010年の名盤『Does It Look Like I’m Here?』（Editions
Mego)から約2年。ようやくエメラルズが新作を完成させた。非常にハイペースなこれまでのリリースと比較すると、これは驚くほど長い空白の2年間だったと言えるだろう。この2年間、メンバーの３人はそれぞれのソロ活動やサイドプロジェクトを行っていた。ギタリストのマーク・マグワイヤは彼の最高傑作と名高いアルバム『Get Lost』（Editions Mego)をはじめ、数多くのコラボや世界各国でのツアーを行い、スティーブ・ハウシルトはその煌めくシンセサイザーによるコズミック・アンビエントアルバム『Tragedy & Geometry』(Kranky)をリリース、そしてジョン・エリオットはソロ名義Outer SpaceやSam GoldbergとのユニットMistのリリースに加え、2011年3月にスタートさせたレーベルSpectrum SpoolsからContainer、Motion Sickness of Time Travel、Gary War等、電子音響～アヴァン・ポップに至まですでに20作品以上のリリースを行っている。

一方、エメラルズとしてはバンドの新たなサウンドの方向性を長い時間を費やし模索した。本作『Just To Feel Anything』は、前作からの流れを汲むアシュラやタンジェリン・ドリームを彷彿させる煌めくシンセサイザーを基調としたクラウトロックの影響や、初期エメラルズでも見られたドローン～アンビエントの間を行き来しつつ、マグワイヤの唸るエレキやメランコリックなアコギのギターサウンドもこれまでになくフィーチャー。さらに、ドラムマシーンを大々的に導入した疾走感溢れる80年代テクノ・ポップ～90年代チップチューンを彷彿させるサウンドとの融合も試みている。様々なジャンルをパワフルに飲み込んできたこれまでのエメラルズ・サウンドを見事にまとめあげ、更に磨きをかけて、みんなの予想も期待も遥かに上回るスリリングで壮大なアルバムが誕生した。同じところには止まらないというバンドの美学に基づいたエメラルズの新たな章が今幕を開ける！

Dead Air for Radios is the first solo album of Kevin Moore, under the name Chroma Key. The album was released four years after Moore left the keyboardist seat of Dream Theater. It has since sold around 10,000 copies.

N° Album :    1 (Or second : "Music Meant To Be Heard" was the initial demo tape for Kevin Moore's work, published within certain Dream Theater fan clubs, and distributed by Kevin Moore himself. Very few copies of the original tapes exist. The tape was converted to CD at an unknown time, and is distributed as a CD-R in most bootleg distribution networks. All of the tape except for "Song For Eric" "Blanket" and "Space Dye Vest" would later be remastered and published on "This Is A Recording."
