Barda, artista argentina de nombre Cecilia Gebhard, nos presenta un trabajo que surgió a raíz de un juego con materiales sonoros para la música de la puesta en escena de la obra teatral “Devenir”.

La intención es que los temas funcionen como parte de una colección de moderada duración, no como un compilado. Aquí hay una elección consciente de que el primer tema abra una propuesta y de que el último tenga mucho que ver con la sensación final.

Podemos reconocer el uso del sampler, ya que estamos en presencia de un collage de timbres y texturas para las composiciones de la puesta teatral. Juegos en clave electro, la suma de delays y los ostinatos de raspado de wiro o tambores, emborrachan dulcemente el groove de este maravilloso trabajo.

A todo esto hay que sumarle un cuidadoso trabajo con la guitarra conectada a un wah wah, como la que suena en “Venus”, o un arco sobre la guitarra con distorsión, lo que da como resultado sonidos que provocan sensaciones profundas y regocijantes.

Featuring veteran, ex-Bundu Boys Zimbabwean marimba player Kudaushe Matimba, the original is the first track of Afriquoi’s album ‘Kolaba’ which was released in September 2015.
